ITT: Films with god-tier concepts but disappointing execution
I nominate On The Silver Globe. From reading the synopsis, it seems like it's going to be an epic tale with a statement about human civilization, but in reality the performances within it are middling to bad, we miss most of the more important parts of the birth of the new civilization (this isn't due to footage being lost, mind you) and it introduces other pointless intelligent alien species.
I hope someone remakes it someday. It has great locations, costumes, and cinematography, but the plot could be very much improved.

The plot was fine besides being in shreads. It's the dialogues that were terrible, most of the time they had nothing to do with what was actually going on in the movie.

I watched it after /tv/ wouldn't shut up about it, and instead of the subtly horrifying Sci-fi I was promised it was an average slasher movie in space with crappy cgi.
Those hell scenes were pretty awesome though won't lie.
