Cuckbrick fags BTFO? Is Kubrick confirmed a bigger hack than Alehandro "I'M DIRECTING" Innwaritoo?
>>66707900
Oh no! Kubrick was influenced by other directors!
Learn what the word homage means, and report back with your findings.

Was Kubrick the Tarantino of his generation?

What's the point? That's got to be one of the most selectively misapplied words in any language.

There's a difference between influence and homage, and straight up copying.

All frauds.
Copying: the whole movie, homage: copying just a scene.
Unless the movie is all like this, I don't see the hate.

Intent.

And apparently you don't know what that difference is.

Sjöström actually based this sequence on a scene from a play he watched in Gaiety Theatre in London, although the name of the play and playwright are long since lost and Gaiety Theatre was destroyed in the blitz.

Where did that even come from? Stormblr is losing its mind.

How many other ways are there to open a door with an axe?
>>66709147
Break the handle.
Break the hinges
Ask the woman with the little boy in her arms to open it.
But the two are different. This is some BLM-tier shit of comparing two things that are superficially similar and ignoring any nuance to pretend they're the same.
What's with this recent trend of comparing modern films with old films to "expose" them?
Did The Revenant really make that many people angry?
Copying the plot is no where near the same as copying the direction. The scene in the Shining is masterfully directed, in terms of editing, sound, shots, acting, etc.
This Phantom Carriage just looks to be framed similarly.

maybe it's because they're based on the same fucking book

actually they aren't
What other way is there to open a door with a hatchet?
Surely you have to hack off a part and reach in with your arm to turn the knob on the other side.

You should be beaten to death for being so obtuse and attached to your incorrect gut instinct. You're wrong. It's an homage.

Idiots. It was a nod to the older movie.
Confirmed: Nolan is the only director who hasn't ripped off other directors.
>>66707900
It's funny because Sjostrom's film isn't the first with a similar scene.

the Shining needs a reboot
maybe JJ Abrams could make it with a colored family
