no, i think it should have ended with both characters learning something from each other; foxx learns to go for shit and pursues the girl and his business, cruiser learns that there is a better way and let's them go off into hiding/to do something worthy of his gifts and intelligence that is productive instead of destructive.

idk, that seems really really optimistic in a way that would be hard not to clash with the tone of the events that came before. It also just seems to "made for a movie" or otherwise unrealistic. And with the ending the way it is, the audience can still "learn a lesson" even if Cruise's character didn't.
