Because all of the original adult swim lineup were perfect examples of the "we appear to not give a fuck but most everything is carefully thought out" style of television. Oz Mo, SeaLab 2021, and Space Ghost Coast to Coast were all shows that looked like they were cobbled together at the last second by 12 year olds, but have deeper comedic value after the shock of the inital asthetic wears off. Adult Swim was originally perfectly catered to it's audience...it's a shame that many of the shows don't have the same charm anymore.
