Hi op, have a real bump and a recommendation
Last good horror I've watched is Resolution, and even that is completely overrun with found footage nonsense and fizzles out towards theresolution. It has some moments of pure dread at the middle though.
Pleb who thinks jump scare means scary.
Sorry anon, it's just natural body reaction when something is sudden, it's just as mechanical as getting a hard on in front of a porn.
True scares need more brain than that shit.

let me guess
you enjoy shit like Kairo and The Changeling, right? I recommend you watch a looping video of a door being swung shut by the wind, it's obviously more your speed in horror.

Propose some.
Babadook was legitimately scary.

When done right, jump scares can be good. I've seen three good jump scares in my life. In order, starting from the best and working my way down the ranking:
1. Exorcist 3. The hallway scene.
2. Sinister. Lawn Work.
3. Carrie. The ending.

To me the scariest I've seen yet is Noroi: The Curse. It just builds up tension and releases all the horror at the very, very end. Session 9 did this well imo too.
I've been on a horror binge lately and saw:
>Christine
>The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
>The Cat People
>Dracula (1931)
>Pumpkinhead
>An American Werewolf in London
I liked them all, especially Christine and The Cat People.
Upcoming movies I plan to watch:
>Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
>Phantasm
>Krampus (if it's still in theaters here)
>Frankstein (1933)
