Can we have a monster movie thread?

Just rewatched Del Toro's mimic. Still pretty good
>Good performances all around
>Spooky bugs, great concept and design
>Dated CGI but thankfully only used for wide shots
>Tons of religious imagery (typical Del Taco), gives it a unique look tho

The Host (2006)
>Fish monster looks great, actually looks like a mutation/abomination instead of a well designed killing machine

Night of the Creeps was cheesy, but fun

Shivers. Old Cronenberg is best Cronenberg. Rabid is better imho, but it's not exactly monsters.

Incubus (1982) The lone monster is off-screen most of the time, but I still liked it.

Independence Day had a really cool Alien design. The autopsy scene still holds up in terms of suspense and effects.

I just hope they don't fuck it up too much in the sequel.

The Thing (1982)

Well Japanese movies would be an obvious choice.

But I think some American monster movies from the 50s are real masterpieces of this genre.

The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953) (and actually most Harryhausen movies)

Them! (1954)
The Blob (1958)

There's also British-made The Abominable Snowman (1957) which is seriously chilling

Anyone ever see monster man? I saw it late late night one time on scyfy years ago. Dude and his buddy on roadtrip pick up some chick hitchhiking. Can't remember much else plot wise, but there's one scene they go into a bar and everyone has a leg or arm or multiple limbs missing. Later you find out they all "donate" them to the creature so he'll spare them or he takes them or something. There's this unkillable creepy ass looking thing that drives a monster truck. It chains some guy up like on a dog run, maybe two guys, and runs over ones head with the massive wheels. Then the other dudes legs. Its pretty brutal and scared the shit out of younger me. It was a tense flick for scyfy, but like I said its been years and I was a kid
