I do admire the deeply subjective character study of memento. The ability to draw characters so well that they seem stuck inside their own 'existential cubicle' is quite a nice skill.

I'm not a huge fan but history has shown that it is very easy to mess up even medium level concept big budget movies.
If you can pull off a large budget flick and make a consistently decent return then you will continue to have financial backers.
