That's it. George thought it was cute. EU isn't canon and never applied to the movies, despite what the rabid EU fans will try to tell you. EU works backwards, the movie people cone up with shit, and the people in charge of comics/book/video games get to make up shit in a filler medium, but it's a seperate work of fiction that has nothing to do with the movies.
Here's a better example:
