Karbin was a commander during the Clone Wars possibly serving the Galactic Republic. Toward the end of the war, his starship was damaged, causing Karbin considerable and untreatable injuries. After that incident, he was committed to eighteen years in life support. Over the following two years, his body was enhanced and installed in a cybernetic body similar to the late General Grievous, which Doctor Cylo claimed he got the inspiration from, he was not a good friend.
