They are only quality films if you have taken a passing interest in this medium recently and have no idea of its possibilities because again you have no active interest in the art form you're just coddled by films which offer "insight" to the cartel world or the philosophical nature of artificial intelligence each of which any thinking man could guess on the way to the theater.
Neither are revealing, only affirming of cliche thought. This makes them perfectly meme. I suggest that people who find Sicario or Ex Machina anything beyond meme cinema to read a damn book or as they say watch more films.
