That future was basically a non-space version of the Barbarella future. They even made 'love' the same way.
Still, the movie is good, and they made that future feel like it wasn't just a copy of the B one. Stalone has good comedic timing (Oscar is very underated btw) as a straight man. He reminds me of Dean Martin that way.
