This was the only part of the lightsaber fight that bothered me at all. Kylo toys with Finn until he gets hit then just wrecks him, then Rey pretty much just retreats from him until The Force Awakens™ and she counterattacks.

A UFC level woman might be able to beat up on an average joe, but a guy who spends any time at the gym will be a major threat. That's how drastic the biological differences are in terms of muscle mass, total weight, and skeletal strength.

Let Luke knock him around while Rey gets up and with Chewie gets Finn to the MF.

Not exactly THAT simple, but it was Luke's biggest hurdle during the original trilogy. Han Solo fully believes in the force but you didn't see him attempt any of that.
