It's just a measly student film trying too hard to be serious. Star Wars is where it's at. It's the national American epic. It is to America as Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen was to Germany and Hesiod and Homer to the Greeks. It is the landscape of post-industrial America captured on celluloid.

If Lucas had his way there would have been green screen for every scene and a bunch of bright lights and beep boops everywhere they could have it.
