I actually like the idea that Vader's suit is such a horrific, cumbersome nightmare that he has to rely on the force just to move. I like the idea that he lives in constant pain and is basically an evil-fueled corpse kept alive long past his expiration date, and I even kind of like the idea that Palpatine is partially responsible for all this. What a great way to ensure that your protegé never gets too big for his britches.
