>WASHINGTON, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Two writers are suing director Quentin Tarantino for allegedly infringing on the copyright of a screenplay they say ultimately became Django Unchained.

>Filed Dec. 24 in Washington, D.C., the lawsuit also names The Weinstein Company and Columbia Pictures as defendants.

>Oscar Colvin, Jr. and his son Torrance Colvin claim their screenplay, Freedom, is eerily similar to the Oscar-winning 2012 film starring Jaime Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson. Tarantino credits Sergio Corbucci's Django for inspiration.

>"There are a plethora of similarities between Freedom and Django Unchained," the lawsuit alleges, according to Variety. "Defendants would call them coincidence, however, the intentional use of our work is neither an accident nor coincidence."

They owed the screenplay ideas to Tarantino anyhow because of reparations. Maybe they didn't hear that Quentin's mom fucked a lot of niggers, so he's an honorary dindu himself?

Tarantino can do whatever the fuck he wants, he's a treasure to the planet. I'd let him nibble my toes.

Isn't the hateful 8 just a ripoff of that 70's movie? Something 9?
>>
>>64319345
He's been quoted to say he takes most ideas from other films as homage.

It's actually a ripoff of the new Adam Sandler movie.

Yeah but I'm trying to find the specific movie. It's literally the same plot. Now it's bugging me more that I can't remember it, more than I wanted to make a point about tarantino's movies or whatever
>>
>>64319493
Its a rip off of The Thing & Resevoir dogs.

>>64319551
Shit. Maybe I'm just crazy then.

>homage

A homage is a prop in the background, or giving an old actor a cameo, not literally ripping ideas and the script from old films.

Tarantino is a talentless cuck.

Come on. Hamlet 2 doesn't count because it's in the style of a sequel. That's like saying Terminator 2 counts.
>>
>>64320337
Fucking shit. Might as well use Rocky 9 and Deathly Hallows Part Two.

Grasp the theme.

hamlet two isn't an actual sequel to hamlet though
>>
>>64320526
I realize, but they named it in the *style* of a sequel. The whole joke about the title is that it's not a sequel. But slapping a 2 on it, even if it's clever, is still inherently in the style of sequels. Otherwise there wouldn't be a joke in the first place
