I wouldn't be opposed to this idea if I heard it ten years ago. There were so many different possible directions to go in the story and universe of the Matrix after the end of the first movie. Unfortunately, the Matrix sequels took this story in the worst direction possible and wrapped it up before even beginning to graze the tip of its true potential for storytelling.

I would love to see a return to the Matrix universe, but only if it can be done by people who fully realize its potential and why people liked the first movie as opposed to the second two.
