Deconstructing this line make me hate it more and more. To start, there are a couple of dead bodies in the room with them when Han says this line, so Phasma has already watched the saboteurs kill some of her fellow Stormtroopers so they wouldn't interfere with their plans to shut down the shield. But all of the sudden a quick blaster shot is too mean for Phasma, so lets go ahead and throw her in the thrash compactor? Why, so she can sit and wait to die after you've triggered the explosives and the Resistance destroys the facility. Or worse, actually suffer the agonizing torture of being crushed to death in the trash compactor you've thrown her in. But I guess if you want her around for the sequel then a shitty line from Han is better then coming up with a good reason she survives in the script.

If the movie was well-written the writers would have had a secondary Imperial Officer deliver the line, and it wouldn't have gotten a laugh because it would have cut to Kylo Ren looking pissed off and we would have been waiting to see how the impressive villain would react.
