Anakin was 22 when he became Darth Vader. He had been knighted and was renowned for being a very talented Jedi Knight, but he was still very young. He had been a Jedi for 13 years at that point.

Obi-Wan was 25 during the Invasion of Naboo, and by the time of Anakin's fall he was 38, had the title of Jedi Master, and had earned himself a goddamn Council seat the normal way instead of getting it as a present from the Chancellor. I'm not sure exactly when a Jedi upbringing transitions from mere caregiving to actual training, but since Anakin was too old at 9, it's probably like 6 or 7. So Obi-Wan has more than 30 years of experience.

Obi-Wan has a massive experience advantage and is also a renowned and powerful Jedi in his own right.

The fact that Anakin's natural talent and raw power put him on almost even footing with Obi-Wan despite the experience gap of 17+ years is incredible in itself, and a testament to what the Chosen One could have done if history had gone differently, but the fact that Obi-Wan still won speaks to the value of experience.

Anakin was destined to fail because he was created by Darth Plagues to be the ultimate Sith ever. Because of his high midi-chlorian count, Anakin was doing shit at a much faster rate. Even as a teenager, he was already "being called even greater than Master Yoda" Once again, this is because Anakin is literally not even a human, but instead a life-form created by a Sith Lord.

Anakin lost to Obi-Wan because Obi-Wan was just a better Jedi. It's not like Obi-Wan is some no-name Jedi. He himself is considered to be an exceptionally gifted Jedi. Anakin could not control himself.

Prior to Episode 2, the only real battles Anakin has faced was almost a push over to him. During Episode 2, he whined that he didn't need Obi-Wan...and then got his ass handed to him by Dooku on a silver platter.

During Episode 3, he got over confident still and was got fucked up by the much more experienced Obi-Wan
