The best python film, and it's the least pythoneque.

I'd put a picture but it'd just be a cock.
I haven't seen Rome. I don't know if I'm ready knowing that it was cut short and it will forever remain only partially done. I can't deal with it. You don't make longer shows in HBO unless you're Game of Thrones.
Anyway I was surprised that Spartacus (1960) also had a fair share of classic political intrigue in it. But Ben Hur is a superior movie even if only a fraction of it takes place in Rome. But it's one awesome subplot.

Eh, Rome really does rush through a lot (Sextus Pompey doesn't exist, Lepidus just disappears, Antony's Parthian campaigns are skipped over entirely) but the ending is more or less satisfactory. I don't regret watching it at all.
Is Spartacus (Kubrick) worth watching? I feel like the inevitable horrible inaccuracies would trigger me way too hard.

Tony Curtis joins a revolution rather than take a cock in the mouth.
Patrician as all hell.

spartacus and paths of glory are his only two films worth watching before he left hollywood, sperged out and created 2001

Scenes in the Senate are really enjoyable and the whole rebellion is nicely portrayed. Makes you feel like an actual account of the entire campaign including strategic decisions. It drags a bit at the end. Maybe it's because I saw Ben-Hur on the same day so naturally it pales in comparison but I think it's "just" very good.

Alright, I'm going to watch it. I've been putting it off forever. I love all of his other films. Just things like design/costumes/weapons/fighting etc. in historical movies really bother me when they're wrong.

For pure entertainment value it's hard to go past the Spartacus tv show.

The ending to Rome is finished, just rushed. It's still got a beginning and end and is very fucking enjoyable.
Spartacus is amazing. Once you get passed the first 2 episodes, the characters flesh out and the style becomes relatively better. It's definitely in my t5 shows ever just for the entertainment factor.
