I'm one of the few who actually liked it, but it had plenty of faults. My biggest gripe was the idea that all the villains from Craig's previous films were just pawns. Just made me roll my eyes. The torture scene was just bizarre too.
>>
CR > SF=SP > QoS
>>
The theme song.

And posters are stupid.
>>
Why can't they make an effortless film like Casino Royale again? Is it too much to ask?

Craig Bond can't into goofy shit

That isnt a joke or troll. Those last two were terrible. At least QoS wasnt blatant brosnan fanboi fanservice nonsense or totally devoid of creativity

>someone else loves Quantum of Solace

Fuck everyone, it's a fantastic film. It's one of the best pure action movies ever. There's a car chase, a boat chase, AND a plane chase, along with numerous fistfights. Craig still looks young and healthy, but now that Tom Ford's taken over tailoring his suits actually fit. The plot is genuinely cool. Judi Dench is great as her support for Bond gets lonelier and lonelier but she never wavers.

It's also perfectly understandable if you see Casino Royale within a month of watching it.

Too many Hugo Boss outfits. Seriously, come on James, it's a desert landscape and you're dressed to a tee. At least Dalton could look fatigued in his fatigues

First time a Craig film gave me Connery vibes, it was pure fan service and I enjoyed that. On the other hand they've become budget Mission: Impossible films which sucks because we actually have Mission: Impossible
films that are much more enthralling.

I'm sure nobody has seen a Bond film before Casino Royale though so that's where the snarkiness comes from. Yes Spectre had its problems but nothing severe, especially considering the abomination that was Quantum of Solace, the video game was better for fuck's sake

A thousand times this

Lana del Rey would have been perfect for the opening. This shitty song alone feels like a bond intro for Quantum of Solace.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPU8XJcA__k

Sam Smith killed this movie.
>>
>>64259395
I agree. QoS was fucking great to me. Felt like James Bond could become Bourne if he needed to. Spectre was just too much fan service.

Also, I am gonna be that faggot and say I cannot stand Skyfall. That shit was terrible.

>oh shit here is this disk with all these undercover agents
>never mentioned again
>literally the driving force of the movie and then forgotten.

I will admit though that scene when he fixes his suit after falling on the train was gold.

Overall, QoS was great and had a great theme with Bond trying to learn about Quantum. Somehow ~Spectre~ felt weak compared to Quantum and Mr. White felt more menacing in Casino Royale than Oberhausen. Quantum was more mysterious. Also, the whole "I was Quantum and Le Chiffre, Silva, and Greene were my henchmen" was horseshit.
I am so ready for bourne 5
>>
>>64261192
Holy fuck, this is correct. Quantum is much more menacing than Spectre, and it isn't even eeeeeevil in the classic Bond sense.

Fuck, the thing that makes Quantum so menacing is that it ISN'T Spectre. It's not a bunch of shitters and evil fucks explicitly looking to be as dickish as possible. It's just a lot of really rich, really powerful people who have decided they're going buddy up and run the world in their own best interests. It's so detached and antiseptic, but it's also incredibly unsettling.
>>
He's become far too ugly to be a convincing womaniser
>>
When the song played I just couldn't fucking believe it. Shit song for this. And shit hit the fan after Rome car chase scene
>>
>>64261273
you put it better than I did. Specter was just "oh look its that guy that has a cat". too Austin Powers for me. Craig was right when he said Austin Powers somewhat hurt Bond.
>>
>>64260243
Not Lana del Rey but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6WO8Dcxr4s&index=2&list=LLhu_jj-VI_190N7nfEDpiMQ would've kicked the shit out of the stupid Sam Smith song
>>
>>64261192
>people actually like Quantum
>shaky cam with atrocious 1 second cuts that make it look like the editor was having a seizure
>Even Marc Foster and Daniel Craig admit the movie is utter shit because they had to write it themselves due to writer's strike

The contrarian meme is real
>>
>>64257796

Nothing, it was a perfectly fine Bond movie that would easily fit in with the pre-Casino Royale movies. The finale in London was the only thing I didn't like, it was just unnecessary.

The theme song is the best since Nobody Does It Better, by the way.
>>
>>64261457
It was still better than Plebfall: James Bond pandering edition.

>MIND DESTROYING NEEDLE TORTURE that does nothing
>Let's escape the bad guy chasing us so we can catch a train to the bad guys house so he can capture and torture us
>VESPER IS DEAD I WILL NEVER LOVE AGAIN o that blond girl is a qt shes my waifu for life
>I SOMEHOW CAUSED ALL OF THE BAD GUYS IN THE PREVIOUS 3 FILMS DESPITE THIS MAKING NO SENSE AT ALL, YOU ALL BOUGHT IT, EVEN MY IMMEDIATE FAMILY BOUGHT IT
>I literally became a supervillain because my Dad liked you a little bit more
>btw I'm actually Blofeld for no reason other than nostalgiawank, this has no effect on the plot
>Let's have the side character agents that people took a liking for in Skyfall run around basically doing shitall for the sake of having them in
>here's this smarmy cunt that allows us to redo Skyfall's "Field agents are obsolete" plot and yet play it exactly straight by having him be a villain all along
Jesus Christ this movie was a mess. I don't know how the went from Skyfall to this, but then again they went from Casino to Quantum.
>>
>>64261457
they have to say that because everyone was up in arms that the typical Bond stuff was not in it. Also, most normal people liked it. Not as much as Casino but a lot of people liked it. But all the reviewers were "Oh its shit" so DC and MF basically had to say "yeah I guess it was shit". Also, did you have to use "contrarian meme"? I like QoS. Feels like a continuation of CR while Spectre feels like a ham-fisted attempt at making it a saga. Come on man.
>>
>>64261661
Yeah I honestly don't understand the critical backlash towards Quantum, you'd think it was Die Another Day quality level by the way that it's treated, rather then being a good movie which has a tough act to follow coming after CR
>>
>>64257796
I just personally had no reason to see another Bond movie.
Skyfall was really good. I saw it in the cinema and was entertained thoroughly.
Then this movie comes along. And it's got these weird posters featuring some skeleton in a top hat. I'm in Australia, and the Sam Smith song was barely in the charts. I listened to it once and thought it was terrible. I don't think I ever saw it in the top songs on iTunes as I was scrolling through and I definitely never heard it play on the radio. The Skyfall song was good and getting airplay everywhere.
Like I said, I'm in Australia and the movie was barely promoted anywhere. Apart from the goofy posters and the song that just existed. Lana Del Rey would have provided some class to the song instead of that whiny British faggot.
And based on what I knew of the premise, I wasn't pulled in by it. Bringing back Blofeld for no reason apart from name recognition. I didn't want to see that.

It kinda was.
Editing, music, plot, even extras in that film were amateurish for a film of that scale.

bumping because bond.

spectre is like 12 absolutely awesome ideas horribly stuck together.

>bond falls in love with blonde psychologist, daughter of a economic gangster
>love it, totally bond
>bond goes up against spectre, a super secret organisation hell bent on global domination
>love it
>bond is faced by a demon from his past, his semi-brother who resents him because of their relationship with his father
>awesome love it

but then they just horribly stick them together with bits of masking tape. if you follow every element of this film with a genuine 'why' nothing makes sense.

>bond goes to the funeral of a terrorist and hassles his widow
>why? no idea really
>bond and swann fall in love
>why? because they spent a bit of time together i guess?
>blofeld hates bond! and he survived an avalanche!
>why? not sure, something about his father

this is also obvious in the way that they just jam all these different locations in the film, like a fast and furious flick

>and then they're on a mountain! but wait a train! but wait oh no its the bad guys lair! no its a desert, no now its a city again! but oh no the bad guy was there the whole time!
>>
Went to see it as my uncle. He said (as a he is a huge James Bond fan) that James Bond didn't feel as witty or as badass as he did in the previous film. He also mentioned that the ending and the torture scene was just bizarre. He hated the "love interest" as well.
>>

It's my fav one desu.
>>
>>64258028
Le Chiffre and QoS guy were always pawns. The only thing that changed is they got the rights to the name Spectre back and ditched the Quantum moniker, which was a bit silly as it made Blofeld's monologue far more confusing than it should have been.

That aside it had pacing problems but otherwise I thought it was great. I loved the theme that a single bullet (and therefore a single man) can drastically alter the state of things. Possibly my favourite of Craig's films.
