At the very start of the course a couple years ago we were told that in sixth form history was about 'relating' to historical figures, emoting with them, and in Uni the focus is on understanding who, why, how etc. To me, this sounded promising: look at the objective facts, don't try and hold Henry VIII to modern feminist standards. But no. Every fucking day is the same cultural marxist cunts criticising George Washington for owning slaves and historical figures being misogynistic - all emotion, no logic or objectivity.
It was funny though. The example my lecturer gave was a historical event of a baron who went around his town beating people and calling them cuckolds. That meme hadn't started on 4chan yet but I look back on it fondly.

No it literally fucking isn't. I don't know if you're old enough to remember this but the benefit system under Brown was fucking INSANE. Fat people were getting benefits, for fuck's sake. The government was and still is handing out billions to those who CAN work and could support themselves. There was an epidemic of benefit thieves that rapidly declined when a government came in that cut down hard on that shit.
