The PT follows in the legacy of the great epic films like Ben Hur, the 10 commandments, and Spartacus, films that were truly aimed at the higher classes and others who could truly appreciate the arts. OT is just a collage of B-movie references with broad appeal. Gunslingers from Westerns, ninjas from kung fu movies, pilots from lowbrow rah-rah WWII movies. It's no wonder that OT is praised by people who have only a superficial knowledge of film language because it presents them only with references to their favorite lowbrow movies. PT is more challenging because it aspires to higher art and its references are taken more from the world of high culture and film art.
In summary, the difference between PT and OT is that PT are FILMS and the OT are MOVIES.

Yeah, it did. Plot to all the prequels: Palpatine is trying to play both sides to get power. It's not that complex but then again neither were the original films.

Kenobi: Young conservative, believes in the old ways, plays by the rule. He's pretty much the exact opposite to Jin in this way. He's also sarcastic and pessimistic.
Anakin: Young and naive. Optimistic. Gives despite not having much. He wants more from life than his background can give him, he wants to get out there and see the world. If you include the deleted scene, he also has a bit of a temper.
Padme: She's more mature than her age, partially because she has so much responsibility weighing down on shoulders. She's really devoted to her people, though, really caring.

Everyone else is on par with the originals, except Jake Lloyd. Jake Lloyd was bad, but he's also only in the first one, and not even a huge part of it.

Then she spends time with him, and she starts to like him, but she's also a senator, so it'd probably be pretty bad for her career if it was revealed she seduced a Jedi (remember, she'd older than him). Honestly, we see them together more than we see Han and Leia together (and certainly more than Finn and Rey, but that doesn't stop Finn from going romance on her and talking about when they first laid eyes on each other aka earlier that day).

Jar Jar originally being the secret villain fits perfectly and explains all the issues in 2.
Lucas had a great story setup that he ultimately caved on. That said, he didn't bother to get help writing it, and the overabundance of CGI ruined any visual effect he was aiming for.
Had he stuck with it, we'd have a much more conflicted fanbase. Where some people would weigh the really interesting plot twist as "amazing" while others would react oppositely.
Imagine if the prequels sufficiently explained how alien species wielded the force in mysterious ways. How they could trick an entire galaxy from within (both the emperor and jarjar).
It would have spawned a better world, a better universe of lore that would have culminated in 7-9, where the "alien" of the prequels and the "human" of the original would combine as a grand space opera finale.
But instead we get New Hope 2: DeathStar 3.0: Acting Season Pass only $20 with preorder
