terrible film. literally(and I mean literally) fell asleep towards the end. easily one of the most overrated sci-fi movies I can think of.
even Moon, which has a much slower pace, is a better watch.
Because it devolves into a slasher movie in the last act. Otherwise I agree it's a masterpiece.

It's really great, Danny Boyle's best in my opinion. Unfortunately Boyle's other, often much overrated films, tend to crowd it out of focus a little. If this were a directorial debut or perhaps even a second film from a lesser known director it would be praised much more highly and be generally much more appreciated. Particular praise should go to John Murphy for the score.

What did you want to happen? They just fly and successfully complete their mission? They go to the Icarus 1 and find out everyone is dead and get back on 2 and complete the mission? The movie made it plausible for someone to have survived and while "religious psycho" was a bit out of nowhere, psycho wasn't. Space madness makes you kill the crew and fuck up the ship, space madness gets worse as you sit alone for years works fine.
