Theres no such thing as perfect but sometimes its hard to find a flaw with a film. Lets discuss it.
ITT: Movies that are more or less perfect or flawless
I'd go so far as to almost call this one kino, actually
>>64200749
Whats the deal with this movie? I've never seen it. It looks so serious and played straight yet I hear that its satire? Plus David O Russel seems like a butthurt hack from the films of his I've seen. Convince me to watch it.
Prove me wrong.
>>64200603
>any movie from the fedora trilogy
>flawless
the thing is these movies are considered unfunny trash in britain
you, the american, only find them funny because of the zany accents and lingo
spaced/shaun of dead/hot fuzz/worlds end are to britain what big mama's house is to america and viced-versa
>>64203113
Oh? Are we posting copy pasta? Let me join.
Is there a character that could even possibly EVEN TOUCH Madara Uchiha? Let alone defeat him. And I’m not talking about Edo Tensei Uchiha Madara. I’m not talking about Gedou Rinne Tensei Uchiha Madara either. I’m talking about Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Uchiha Madara with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and Rinnegan doujutsus (with the rikodou abilities and being capable of both Amateratsu and Tsukuyomi genjutsu), equipped with his Gunbai, a perfect Susano’o, control of the juubi and Gedou Mazou, with Hashirama Senju’s DNA implanted in him so he has mokuton kekkei genkai and can perform yin yang release ninjutsu while being an expert in kenjutsu and taijutsu.
>>64200887
I like it because it's offbeat and really weird.
It's not what you'd expect from the talentless wasteland that is British cinema.
>>64200887
>Convince me to watch it.
why do I even come to this board anymore
>>64203239
Oh we have a tough guy here huh....... *unsheathes my twin katanas* Well, let's see how tough you really are! *jumps into the air* TAAAAKE THIIIIIIIIIIIIS *spins around and slashes your face open* Not so tough now, huh????? *grabs you and throws you up* It's time to finish this little charade *holds my katanas above my head* YOU ARE FINIIIIISHEEEEEEEED!!!!!!!!!!! *jumps upwards so that you get impaled on my swords* Heh.... Nothin personnel, kid.....
>>64200749
Its a 7/10 flick
>>64203113
I have some friends over in the UK and they love them, sorry about your shit taste anon, did Simon Pegg your mum or something?
>>64203113

>>64206799
my nigger
hot fuzz is fucking top 5 comedy films desu senpai
WANNA BE A BIG COPPER IN A SMALL TOWN?
FUCK OFF UP THE MODEL VILLAGE!
>>64201350
Ending could have used better pacing.
But this movie is like a pretty cake. You won't find astonishing emotional or philosophical depth in a pretty cake. It's simply just a really really really good movie. Which is great and worthy of praise. But it'll hardly make the top ten lists.
Steve Zissou for example had a heart wrenching scene at the end that worked more effectively.
>>64200749
how have i never heard of this before? thanks for the rec
>>64203113
Go fuck yourself traitor
>>64200603
I really like this movie but it has some bad pacing and is much longer and drawn-out than it needs to be. Too much time was spent investigating the details of the mystery when it all ended up being a red-herring.
plus everything that happens after the final shootout (the explosion and danny's fake death) is just stupid rather than funny
>>64206983
>>64206983
>Too much time was spent investigating the details of the mystery when it all ended up being a red-herring.
This pissed me off when I first saw it. Felt like a cop-out compared to something like Shaun of the Dead.
But rewatching it, it was all set up nicely. It's a funny and obvious twist that pays off well.
>>64203113
literally what
everyone i've ever met loves this movie
>>64200749
> mfw I watched this on release with my grandmother
She never forgave Clooney. Great movie though.
>>64206938
Accurate. Flawless film.
I will fight anyone that suggests otherwise.
>Does exactly what it sets out to do.
I'd say that's flawless.
>>64200749
10/10
Mad Max: Fury Road
Antichrist
Moonrise Kingdom
Eraserhead
Her
Birdman
The Holy Mountain
Robocop
The Empire Strikes Back
The Big Lebowski
Amélie
>>64200603
I never got how this movie was supposed to be funny, same for shaun of the dead. That film felt more like just a terrible zombie movie.
Am I missing something?
>>64206938
Plot hole here and there but nothing worth taking points away
>>64208177
You are devoid of wit my son
>>64200603
the worlds end
shaun and fuzz have both one minor flaw, shaun where the amputee zombie walks in and he fraks out, and angels actions in the goose catching montage
worlds end is flawless tho
>>64208177
Yeah: a sense of humor.
>>64208177
A brain
>>64208177
Maybe you have a different sense of humor? Whats your opinion on this masterpiece then. If you hate them both you might just be a cunt
>>64208349
Fuck i love that movie.
>>64208190
In the first one?
The only plot hole I can think of is that Marty's parents didn't recognize him as an adult. But that might make sense, since they've watched him grow up since infancy, and they saw him thirty years ago.
>>64208256
>>64208327
>>64208346
Well, considering the only thing you guys are able to do is throw some random insult it makes me think that maybe you are the retards that enjoy a shitty movie.
>>64208413
So butthurt. These were all examples of jokes; clearly you have no sense of humor.

Samefag
the movie wasn't THAT good
I'm exempt.
This movie has a 67% or RT. Whats wrong with this world
>>64208468
It was. Every time I think of a good movie, Hot Fuzz is the first thing that comes to mind.
>>64208468

Here. Accept the truth.
>>64200603
What happened with 'The World's End'? It felt like it was filmed just as competently, and it had great action and special effects, the usual callbacks and pottery, but it felt too depressing, as if the entire movie was the final segment of 'Shaun of the Dead'.
>>64208614
I disliked it the first time I watched it but each time it gets better.
>>64208517
>has shit taste
>asks whats wrong with the world
The awnser is you
>>64208652
It is good, I'd say about the same as the others, but I think that it hits too close home with growing up, friends going their own ways and trying to relive the fun they had when they were younger. Most of the 'jokes' are actually meant to be depressing or cringe worthy, and it lacked a lot of the dark humor of the previous two.
>>64208614
I think that was the whole point of it. Look at Simon Pegg's career compared to his buddies now. I took the ending with him on his own adventure with a new group as to what his career is now.
>>64208601
>ruining the best scene in Spaced for people who haven't seen it yet
Decent video, though I don't think it says much that's new or interesting. I was really hoping for more analysis on how he did the transitions or something.
>>64208116
This guy knows. Not a frame wrong with this movie.
>>64208614
It's stylistically designed to be that way.
The last episode of Peep Show was on a few weeks ago, and it wasn't a big, epic finale. It was just another episode of Peep Show, about how these kind-of-horrible men are getting older and stagnating.
The World's End felt much the same. We've had two really funny genre parodies already, this one was a bit more melancholy and personal.
>>64200887
>i havent seen it

This anon is probably polish
Can't imagine the premise done better.
>>64200603

perfect choices

>>64206869
this nigga, its nice but shallow and Life Aquatic is the Andersons best.
>>64203113
I'm from Devon in UK. I live in a town very similar to the one in Hot Fuzz, and it's spot on. I fucking love this film.
>>64208135
I like pretty much all of those films but fucking christ man flawless?
>>64210051
I'd say so. Forx example robocop doesn't take itself seriously enough to warrant much criticism. Feel free to give some flaws though i'm open to them.
>>64200603
Lethal Weapon and the Thing

One of the greats, imho.
>>64211876
My only complaint about this movie is the party scene lasts too long, i.e. when they meet up after the convention.
Just felt like it dragged on.
>>64208951
yeah for real, heres one of my picks
>>64207991
I guess you love it or you hate it.
>>64201350
>4:3
>perfect
It's not a particularly remarkable or exciting film, but I wouldn't say you could call it flawed.
>>64211876
>>64211999
this.
>>64208116
Good pick.
>>64206938
9/10 - impossible to give it a perfect score with the plot holes.
>>64212069
Boring
Repetitive
Derivative
Also 3d gimick babby
>>64208517
This movie is so great...
>>64211999
I get that. But it still contributes to the suspense.
>>64212142
How was it repetitive?
>>64212191
It helps pad some time to build up some of the characters/suspense, but at a certain point, it just felt it lasted too long.
I would've loved to have seen more stuff regarding the convention, but what can you do.
Hot Fuzz
Eyes Wide Shut
Dr Strangelove
Die Hard
Terminator 1&2
Barry Lyndon
>>64212002
Yes, it is perfect.
>>64212320
i just saw eyes wide shut last night, but i didn't get it.
to me it was just a man walking around worrying that his wife might cheat on him, could you explain what was so great about it?i'm a khv so i feel like i couldn't understand a lot of the concepts
IMHO
Perfect action movie with best soundtrack
>>64203113
>the thing is these movies are considered unfunny trash in britain

Literally the single most ham fisted rant about capitalism, coming from one of the most capitalist industries one earth.
That and it was basically Dances With Wolves 2: Space Smurfs Boogaloo

>>64208135

Fury Road is pretty flawless, ESB doesnt really stand on its own though
>>64214630
eh, it's good the first time but wasn't really funny on repeat viewings
>>64214788
Fight club fares no better on repeat viewings tbqh. I can at least still watch snatch when I'm bored every few years. Rewatching fight club would be like rewatching the matrix at this point... just a terrible thing to do.
>>64214788
I'll disagree with ya there but to each their own
>>64213637
tru. Need to watch Evangelion for it to really work though tbqh
>>64206664
