Han's black wife is a sham even in the comic. Early in Han's career, he was with a crew that was trying to pull off a heist in some high-security Hutt casino and apparently the best way to get some inside people in there was to have a fake wedding.
The Han's black wife character wanted it to be more then just a fake marriage and that's part of why she's chasing Han in the book.
