Top kek, are you fags even trying?

Why do you still pretend that video games aren't an artform?
>>
>>64188735
Those are not very good games.

List some """"""good"""""" games.

Low-tier b8. You're all awful.
>>

what are they video games?

gaming is a childish hobby anon
>>

I could literally name your favourite game, and you would shit on it to prove a point.

Why would you include two good games in this obvious bait?
>>
>>64188735
>Hotline Miami
best one.

>Undertale
meme

>Spec Ops: The Line
It's good but it's just Heart of Darkness/Apocalypse Now in Dubai.
>>
>>64188877
>just
but the mechanics are slick as fuck and it has a level of difficulty that's actually fun to beat.

good

nothing really extraordinary

Only thing difficult about it was a lack of ammo if you spray around. Unless someone is trying to Rambo his way through.

But yea, mechanics weren't half bad as for mid-budget title. As I said - good game.
>>
>>64188735
A hotline miami movie would be pretty sweet.
I'm not sure that anyone could pull off action sequences that would suit the style of the game.
>>
>>64188971
Ah FUBAR was a little trickier than that in places, fun as in wasn't as bland as just doing the same thing in every room is what I meant. Reminded me of Uncharted where you could jump around a bit rather than stay in cover 24/7.

>>64188996
Isn't Drive what it'd be?
>>
>>64189023
maybe like a mix of Drive and The Raid
>>
>>64188996
First shootout scene shot top-down over a set of connecting rooms similar to the layout of the game. Cool? Or Uwe tier?
>>
>>64189036
I'd watch that.

I like to think HM is impossible to film. One of the key elements of what this game is about is whole "click R to instantly reload" thingy. Make error, try again.

The Raid is probably as close as you can get. It's actually very similar in more aspects - both 1st installments are in more closed spaces, fights are similar, most of them are fought by one hero, almost no plot, it's seen by many as superior, whole sequel in both cases is bigger, more story oriented, includes wide variety of fighters and styles, more open spaces and I like both sequels more than originals.

Tbh I watched The Raid 2 for the first time after finishing HM2 in a train. Everytime there was a fight scene coming, I paused the movie and started some HM soundtrack in the background. I used to have list of fight scenes with their respective "recommended" HM OST.

>>64188735
Which is the one that talks about how killing is really bad again?
>>
>>64189222
Why did you like TR2 more than TRR?

>>

Video games as "art" is for trust fund kids who can't get their screenplay filmed.
>>
>>64189274
Purely because of Hammergirl and Baseball guy
>>
>>64189324
One dimensional gimmick characters that existed only to be proven to be formidable then defeated. Basically foil characters.
>>
Spec Ops was terrible. I just wanted a fun game, instead I got a stiff, self absorbed, overblown piece of crap. It's basically a Tarantino movie.
>>
>>64188735
reddit trifecta
>>
>>64189389
Are you implying that there was a character in both Raid movies that wasn't one-dimensional gimmick?
>>
>>64188778
Arcanum.
>>
>>64188899
Difficulty isnt fun, I played hardest available which was literally just headsht all enemies with pistl all game, Which is 1 hit 1 kill, Then the scripted events were just random if you die by AI aiming at/near yu
>>
>>64189454
well you get some history with the characters in TRR, the characters develop a bit, ball boy and hammer girl seem to start and stop on the same note with no real development in-between.

>>64189579
Maybe I'm just so good at video games I could afford to play around a bit.
Kidding, but I don't remember playing it like that.
>>
>>64189744
Story is there for sake of having story at all. You don't watch Raid films for their plot or character development. You watch them for fights and their choreography. And scenes including those two were fun as fuck to watch.
>>
>>64188735
At least two of the games on your list rely on "mechanics" and not "story" to garner any worth. And yet you put them forward as somehow better than film a medium in which mechanics mean absolutely nothing.

This right here is why attempting to compare two entirely different mediums is a fools errand. One does one thing very well which the other can't and vice versa. Even /lit/ isn't this retarded when it comes to books/film, they recognise the difference. I suppose this should be expected from /v/, bunch of whiny 13 year olds.
>>
>everyone talking about HM's gameplay and how to go about filming it
The fuck? HM is crazy stylistic. Besides the retries and perspective it could easily make the transition to film. And a movie exploring average joes getting caught up in a mysterious murder cult and wrestling with psychosis, reality, and even reliable narration could be really interesting.

The Line is a shitty game and a great piece of storytelling that surpasses both Heart of Darkness and Apocalypse Now.
