It's not that I don"t accept her as one of the main heroes of the new trilogy. A woman as a hero is not the problem, actually. Why not ? Male of female, a Jedi uses the Force to grow his/her strenght.
The main problem is that all the people who complain about "Rey is a Mary Sue" are quite right. She is too talented at too many things without actual reasons (being a scavenger on a desert planet doesn't make you a god-tier pilot, fighter, Force users, linguist, well liked at first sight by anyone), and that leaves no room for character development. By now, anyway.
Because Rey's past is obscure and rely a lot to the sequels. And that rejoin one of the many others problems of TFA : the movie is a long trailer for Episode VIII. It doesn't stands on itself. It throws some tracks for the sequels, but has nothing to tell on its own. It is okay when it is in the middle of a trilogy (ESB), because it leads to the finale of the saga. But not as a first steps. Rey's character and non-backstory is a witness of that issue.
If they don't pull a "Rey was a former student of Luke and her memory was wiped, she actually knows a lot of the OT characters and a lot about the Force but doesn't remember it" or "Rey is actually the villain", then her character has litteraly no interest because she has no room for improvement.

Like, Star Wars is a dramatic space opera/fantasy movie, so the battles have to be intense and somewhat drawn out. You can't have your villain or hero kill the other after two swings.
But how do you blend real fighting with fantasy to make it look appropriately convincing? How can you make a battle still feel like every blow, parry, and dodge counts, even though these are actors putting on a show?

Rey was also more capable than Luke from the start. She has had to survive on her own since she was a child, knows how to fight and is generally more hardened than Luke who grew up with a family and friends.

It's perfectly reasonable when its said that every one of his friends were pilots and he was the best in the group. He doesn't even do that well in the actual run. You can have realistically brutal swordfights I believe, you just have to then understand that the story can't be about the fights but it has to be about something else. The tone of the story would be less heroic and more gritty like game of thrones.

Yeah, he's shown how to feel the force by Obi-Wan, Rey learns it by resisting Kylo's mind reading technique. Maz also played a part in her realizing her potential. The fact that she learns mind trick so fast was a bit much though tbf.
