Some do. Palpatine did not. He uses them. Plain and simple.
To be fair Dooku in didn't care about Palpatine though Vadar and Maul probably both did.

Palpatine doesn't even think of Vader as a person. He refers to Anakin Skywalker to Vader as though his is so detached from the person.

Palpatine doesn't give a flying fuck about any of his apprentices. Every single one of them is a tool at his disposal, not a valued ally or charge. They're exceedingly useful tools, and difficult ones to replace at that, but Palpatine has zero qualms about throwing them aside if and when necessary. That's plainly obvious in how Palpatine willingly sacrifices Dooku and attempts to do the same with Vader. Treachery is the way of the Sith, after all.
And that's more or less the way his apprentices (ought to) think about him. The nature of the Baneite system, the rule of two, is that one will embody power and the other will crave it. The master gains a useful resource through his disciple, and the learner gains a mentor through which he can expand his knowledge of the dark side. the arrangement, by definition, is constantly waiting for one of them to die. As soon as the master has access to a more powerful apprentice, he disposes of the old one. As soon as the apprentice believes he can overpower his master, he seizes control. The mutually predatory nature of their relationship is what keeps the Sith constantly working to strengthen and empower themselves.
