Just got my tickets for the 70mm Hateful Eight.

I'm hype. How did you like it?
>>
4.5/5

It has no restraint and is a clearly "Tarantino" film, and WARM BLACK DINGUS is a really weird moment, but overall its just a good film. Intermission is 12 minutes btw.
>>
>>64171021
Lot of corn syrup gore?
>>
>>64170978
bring a lot soda
>>
>>64170978
its excellent. the new patrician's choice for UNO FARTO movies
>>
>>64171021
I'd totally agree with this
The BIG BLACK DINGUS scene and the references to it after were extremely awkward to sit through but the rest of the movie was a lot of fun

It's not an arthouse classic, but if you've liked any other Tarantino movies you'll like this one
>>
2/5
It's alright. More bad than good and the payoff isn't worthy of the great buildup, but it's occasionally tense, often funny, very atmospheric, and got some great performances.

I especially enjoyed Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
>>
it's the most tarantino movie he's ever made, so if you like his shlocky bullshit you'll be right at home here
>>
>>64171021
>>64171896
Could've been great without the spergy shit that Tarantino has for black dicks.
>>
Wasn't world changing but Jennifer Jason Leigh was excellent.
>>
it's pretty enjoyable, i shutter to think what it woulda been like if Jlaw actually got the part of Daisy. dodged a bullet
>>
It's pretty good, but the dingus scene is pretty bad. and quentins narration is also pretty bad.
>>
As far as whodunit movies go, it is really lame. Many shots that should be 10 second long are 5 minutes long. Fuck you Tarantino I don't need to see a horse shaking that booty for 5 goddamn minutes
Also while in his other films gore is used as a by-product of the story, h8ful has gore for the sake of having gore.
>also that corn syrup quality
Is there any movie that has done it right where blood dries after a few seconds?
>>
>>64170978
Her brother is under the floor the whole time.
>>
okay I was planning on seeing this but this whole dingus meme thing had me really interested so i couldn't wait and i saw a video of it

what the fuck?

this seems so out of place no matter the tone or situation...
>>
I hope u like big black dingus
>>
Woulda been better if everyone was just being paranoid and noone was there to break out Daisy.
I also didn't like that Daisy was made to be a simply evil GANGSTER instead of giving her an interesting backstory
My thoughts in the first act were that she might have been a prostitute that killed her client. This would have introduced some moral grayeness, and then this could be argued by the different lawmen and hangman but no of course she's just evil and the hangman ins't even a hangman and every character is a 1 note caricature

guess I'm looking for something different than it was though. black dingus/10 it was kind of fun violence no more
>>
>>64172282
Suck it you racist fuck!
>>
>>64171896
>>64171021

I thought it was funny, also it was probably made up bullshit to bait the oldman into reaching the gun, but the black dick jokes that followed made me laugh, don't you get it? its only funny because its wrong.
>>
I'm going to watch the screener on my iPad during my flight back home.
>>
>>64170978
What did you buy tickets for this days in advance? You didn't buy them right before the show like a normal person?
>>
>>64173815
I bought them the day before because I got jewed out of the Big Short today
>>
>>64173264
Why the fuck would a shot ever newd to be 10 seconds long

Go big or go home, 5 seconds and under or full-on long take.
>>
>>64173537
From what I understand, he's using it to rile Bruce Dern into picking up a gun. Never actually happened.

Still, showing it's a little out there.

>>
was good, very enjoyable but i like tarantino.
But, was anyone else really underwhelmed by the 70mm 'experience', it was definietly better than anything else but i guess i was just expecting too much.
>>
was rooting for daisy domergue and then she was revealed as jusdt some gang member hoodlum who had all the odds in her favor to begin with
so from there i wasnt really rooting for anyone except i guess sam jackson because i like him as an actor

Not everything needs to be explained man. You don't need prequels and books filling in the shit they didn't slap you in the face with. She was a terrible person just like most of the people in that room and she died for it. The end.

The Warm Dingus stuff was funny as fuck and got thunderous laughter from the audience, especially when Sam Jackson does his "evil/crazy laugh". It's pure comedy gold, because of how over the top it is and how terrified the old racist reacts. I'm white, from the south, and I didn't feel like it was weird or uncomfortable at all. The people who find it uncomfortable are some small minded white-guilt motherfuckers, hyper-sensitive SJW, or racists afraid of black cocks.

Warm Dingus was weird but that was part of the fun, it was unsettling in a totally right way

>>
>>64178997
I think that's a fault of the setting. I had no idea that it was going to take place all in a single house. Not much to look at and Tarantino really wasted his time with the 70mm thing. He especially missed a really good chance to pull out at the end so that we could view all the stuff that happened like dead bodies and the damage done to the cabin.

Kurt Russell dying like that before getting into a firefight was disappointing.

>>
>>64170978
2/10
What the hell happent to the Tarantino that wanted to change hollywood, he relies now in stuff that worked in his previous in different kind of films because he wants to play safe and use what people love and knew about him, instead of trying to put a challenge against himself and try to do a different thing besides his comfort zone, like with Jackie Brown.
Also selling a 70mm film when most of the deal happens in a cabin souned cheap, and like Tarantino just wanted to make everybody know he likes to film in a old format, and to imitate what Anderson did with the master.
Also Kurt Russell dying was what made the whole movie more dull for me. I even saw The thing again after watching the hateful eight
>>
>>64178983
>hyper sensitive SJW

>>
>>64180058

>>
>>64173647
Yeah I agree.

The shots were too long. The dialogue was okay but it's as if Tarantino thinks he is that good that he thought 2 hours of shit talking is great.
>>
>>64178897
Confirmed.
>>
>>64178865
I think the big problem with this was giving her almost no background to work with, and they just went with a simpler way, which was to make her a gangster, and she along with the others are like cartoony versions of what they represent.
>>
>>64178983
Nah, it was shit. Especially the reaction from the old man throughout it all. It felt more like Tarantino going "LOOK AT THIS OLD WHITE RACIST BEING SO SCARED OF THE BLACK DICK" more than it did Samuel L Jackson being his usual hilariously ridiculous self.

If the old man had just sat there seething the entire monologue it'd probably have fit more. Him scrunching up into a ball like that was just really offputting though.

Enjoyed the movie in the end however. The final scenes with Samuel, Maxxin, and the rest of the gang was fucking 10/10. Had me laughing my ass off.
>>
>>64179612
>>64179509
Saw it in Houston.

The only people who laughed were the ghetto blacks in the back. My friends all stared straight ahead while the scene was going on.

I dunno, I kinda liked that the old man was simply there to bury his son. It really felt like Tarantino was going for a more complex route with the old man and not simply saying LOL SINCE HE'S RACIST HE'S COMPLETELY EVIL AND DIES but then that scene happened and that went right out the window.
>>
>>64181401
Have to admit, after Kurt died the entire movie went downhill. The scenes between him and the woman were the driving force of the movie. The moment he died she just sat there like a dumbass. Samuel became unlikable after his DINGUS story and Maxxin was a little racist bitch, so everyone became unlikable until the VERY END last 10 minutes where Maxxin became based.
>>
Any reason why the gang would leave Smithers to live while killing everyone else?

The reveal with Tatum under the floorboards annoyed me. I can see how O.B wasn't counted as one of the eight since he wasn't an asshole like the rest, but it still annoyed me. Having 10 people in the house feels like it's breaking the "rules". You set up this whodunnit where the premise is eight people and it just feels annoying to veer off that course. If the movie was called something else it would have been alright.

It annoyed me irrationally much, but overall the movie was good, I guess.
