Are you going to upgrade your bluray collection to 4K? Is physical media dead?

You goddam kids & your technology

hey guys it's me the blu ray KING
>>64169834
Such a complete and utter waste of money.
I still buy movies on DVD.
No, the human eye can't tell the difference between 1080p and 4K
>>64170357
blatant lie, poorfag.
>>64169834
what for?
the human eye can't tell the difference between one banana and two bananas
>>64169834
I'm only gonna upgrade the movies that would really benefit from it, so probably not that many.
I probably won't even buy a 4k player until 2017 since the first machines like DVD and Bluray players all were like 1 grand when they first came out.
>>64169834
getting one of these because I'm disgusted by how many blu ray cases I have on my shelves and I hardly ever watch them
>>64169834
>doesnt haveL O S Tcollectors set
what do 4k cases look liek lmao
that's all that maters

Assuming $20 per Bluray / DVD, I calculated the value of that collection to be about $30,000
I enjoy owning blu-rays, whether they be 1080 or 4k, I'm going to keep collecting them. I never got into collecting VHS or DVD when it was a good time to do so, so even when Blurays become utterly obsolete (they are already somewhat, thanks to digital) I'll probably continue buying them.
Like I said, this is for collecting purposes. I actually watch stuff mostly in digital format on a 2TB hard drive I own, though I'm running out of space. I'll probably nab a 5 TB soon.
Pic related, my film collection. What do you guys think? It doesn't take up space and I'm not wasting $20 on a disc I'm going to watch a few times.

Physical media has been dead since the invention of the smartphone.
>>64170997
>only watching movies a "few times"
>>64169834
why the freak would you buy so many shitty mindless flicks ? like actual copies, costing actual money, actually encouraging these studios and production companies ? why would you do it?
>>64170997
Also requires stealing.
>>64171049
How many views would it take to justify spending ~$20 on a disc?
people itt are the people that don't pirate movies and still don't understand why anyone would want to buy a movie
If 4k is so much better than full hd, how come it'll fit in the same disc? Wouldn't it require more capacity to store a higher quality movie?

>Actually buying Blu Rays

I own less than 10 cause I knew 4k and Red Ray were coming as early as 2008, only good thing is half your collection will be online as well thanks to Ultraviolet.

New blurays can hold much higher capacities
>>64169834
I haven't even really started upgrading from DVD to BluRay, so no. I more than likely won't.
I will never collect physical movies for the sole reason that they change format. You all look fucking retarded with your huge VHS and DVD collections and youll look retarded with a huge Blur Ray collection as well.
As long as ISP data caps exist, physical media will also exist.
Unless you download a 700mb YIFY and think that's adequate.
