>hurr the NFL is evil
If the players didn't have football they would be fucking nobodies with a business degree or an African American Studies degree.

Where in the fuck does anyone get off on making NFL team owners the bad guy? What else do the players have? Who gives a shit? Fuck this film and its "epidemic".

It's the fact that the NFL knew about it and kept it a secret. These guys in suits don't give a fuck about the players safety and their well being. The players are making these guys billions of dollars. They deserve know that they're going to be fucked in the head after their career is over.

Nothing is going to change until mothers around the country stop letting their sons play football. I think this movie actually has a chance of making that happen.

>don't give a fuck about the players
So? Its not their job to give a fuck. What else would the players be doing if not for the NCAA and the NFL? Beating their wife in the trailer park? Committing crimes in the hood?

Old people get dementia, no shit.

If you think the hits in rugby are anywhere near the power of NFL hits, you're out of your fucking mind. Go drink some tea and suck a dick, britfaggot.
>>
>>64165510

They profit off of brain damage, they did everything they could to keep it secret from the players and the public, and you side with them even though you have no stake in it at all. Examine your priorities, man.

Employers have a responsibility to provide the safest possible conditions for their employees, they have a responsibility to make sure that their employees understand the risks of the work before signing on. It doesn't matter how well the job pays. The problem isn't the injuries themselves, the problem was the cover-up.

can anyone explain why this is being advertised during NFL games?

i don't understand why the NFL would allow that to happen

>Its not their job to give a fuck

Are you fucking stupid? Find me any other profession in America that destroys the lives and bodies of their workers after they retire.
>>
>>64167159
Every sport damages its players. Every job damages its workers for fucks sake, sitting for hours on end takes decades off of their miserable lives.

You want to make a preachy soapbox film about that too?

>degrees
Half these guys wouldn't have a high school diploma
>>
>>64167179
Its already in the news and the NFL doesn't want to come off as the bad guys.

Its the same reason Peyton Manning beat that doc to the punch when talking about performance enhancing drugs this weekend. PR 101, always beat the headlines before the headlines beat you.
>>
>>64167179
because if they wouldnt allow it would be a huge story

"THE MOVIE THE NFL DOESNT WANT YOU TO SEE"

they cant do that now. they hope it will pass by without anyone noticing
>>
>>64167312
Its already a flop, its hilarious they premiered when Star Wars is in theaters. NFL killed them dead.
>>
>>64167256
Physical injuries are one thing, but these guys are seriously fucked in the head after they retire. You really don't care about all the players that have committed suicide? Is that a part of every sport and every job too?
>>
>>64167503
They commit suicides in their 60s. Guess what? The majority of suicides are perpetrated by people in their 60s. It applies to all jobs. Big whoop.

Right. NFL was the only organization in the world to ever research whether repeated head trauma was bad for your brain
>>

>they have a responsibility to make sure that their employees understand the risks of the work before signing on

I agree with you that the movie is preachy-ass Oscar bait, but in the real world, the NFL did a shitty thing. People really didn't understand the long-term cumulative damage of that kind of trauma.

Now that the truth is out there, players are free to choose for themselves, and there are obviously great incentives to do the job despite the risks. But the fact that they actually UNDERSTAND those risks is an important part of the process
>>
>>64167503
I don't give a fuck about people that commit suicide. Especially after playing a game that nobody forced them to play and for millions of dollars.

Yeah they do. They just get paid well so they don't care until it's too late.

one steps down and 10 eagerly step forward to take his place. making it big in football can take you from below the poverty line into the 1%
>>
>>64167605
Do you actually believe the bullshit spewing out of your mouth?

>Junior Seau, 43
>Andre Waters, 44
>Terry Long, 45

And those are the just the guys covered in the movie.
See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Players_of_American_football_who_committed_suicide
The majority of those guys are in the their 30s and 40s
