I don't think it was pretentious. It was extremely off-kilter and unique from most films. The always static cinematography, slow pace and seemingly disjointed narrative will leave many "plebs" feeling as though it is "pretentious"(which is just a shitty buzzword in my opinion), however i feel that the film is never without a considerable amount of substance.
