What a stupid Bond villain. He decided to become a supervillain and take over the world just to fuck with Bond because he was jealous of his dad hanging around with him? Or did I miss something?
>>
I liked Bond movies when Bond girls were just tits and ass and villains were fun and spergs weren't looking for plot holes.

Well, I actually never liked them but at least they weren't infused with this nonsense.
>>
Its funny because this is literally my life. My step brother is in Prison for trying to kill me and designed a ton of shit in my life to fuck with me. Yet somehow this is more plothole than trying to steal an entire countries water and start a war.

Bond needs to return the settis where villains had secret underwater bases or hollowed out volcanoes and weren't just replaceable badasses operating out of makeshift server rooms in abandoned industrial buildings.

But he didn't start a villainous organization, right?

>>64123757
>Skyfall has Bond returning to his childhood home and a villain from M's backstory
>Spectre has a villain from Bond's childhood
>Both are super geniuses with crazy layered plans all based on revenge against the main protagonists

When did James Bond turn into anime bullshit? Remember Le Chiffre? That dude was a great Bond villain. He was flawed and cowardly and constantly fucked up, but still provided a great foil to Bond without having to be directly tied to his or anyone else's backstory.
>>
>>64124515
This. Craig is like a second rate Red Grant. Connery would have thrown Daniel Craig off the Train before the opening credit song.
>>
>>64123757
>it was me all along James
>>
>>64123757
It was considerably better than skyfall

Blowfield was still a more realistic villain than the fortune-teller with a grudge villain who wasted the ability to literally rule the entire fucking world on killing M from skyfall

>>64123757
It's shit like Harry Potter where everything revolves around the protagonist even the villain's main motivation is making life a hell for the hero

But it worked in Harry Potter because of destiny, linked souls and magic and shit.

No, he hated his dad, then killed him, then became a criminal mastermind, then after Bond finished his time with the Navy and special fores and entered intelligence and was in a position to oppose SPECTRE he decided to start fucking with him.

Bond doesn't give a shit about white slavery/child prostitution/heroin, etc. Blofeld fucking with Bond is just his own little side project, he's still running SPECTRE and SPECTRE does things that don't involve MI6.
>>
What happened to Bond girls being hot slampiece spies and Bond villains being maniacal nutters with space stations, superweapons, and sub bases. This era of gritty realism is really a bore.

And it's not just with Bond films either. Most war and action films have fallen to it too.

There are exceptions of course like Edge of Tomorrow.
>>
>>64125011
Exactly. James Bond used to be this kind of elevated reality that was still dark and violent, and a huge part of it was avoiding any backstory for Bond and letting him be this larger than life sort of figure. Casino Royale, as a reboot, did away with a lot of the "elevated" aspect in favor of making it more serious and dark, and it did show Bond's first kill but still kept him as more or less a cipher - even the story behind his first kills were left untold in favor of showing us how this characte adapted to being a killer. Then we get the Le Chiffre plotline which makes for a lot of great scenes and captures the Bond movie structure without adhering to the elevated pseudo-cartoonish stuff. The conflict between Bond and Le Chiffre develops organically as we watch it. Then once Eva Green dies we've seen a story behind Bond's motives for the planned follow-up movies.

QoS squandered this great first installment of a new Bond series by basically being a fairly dry and unremarkable movie. So the producers dropped everything and tried to recreate the Bond brand again with Skyfall. They sacrificed what made Casino Royale uniquely good, the balance of realism with intrigue, in favor of returning to the more elevated superhero-type Bond from the 90s and before, but repackaged with the action movie aesthetic that appeals to 2010s audiences. But they also lost what made the best Bond movies, including CR, work, which is keeping Bond as a cipher and having him encounter new unique enemies with their own agendas that he has to stop to save other people. Now the Bond villains are coming directly for Bond and it's like Harry Potter or Star Wars and shit.
>>
>>64123757
And don't forget that he's supposed to be the most threatening vilain of the franchise, but the main thing he does is saying sorta ironic jokes and cold hate remarks.
Meanwhile Bond just stands there, listening to him as if Blofeld was just the weird retarded waiter of a brothel.
Good job, writers!

Actually, they should have taken a page from Mad Max: Fury Road when making Spectre. Max in that film basically followed a Bond plotline by getting involved in someone else's conflict, stopping the villains, and departing to new adventures.

Bond could get away with including a "revenge/backstory villain" in Skyfall because he was taking revenge on M, not Bond himself, and then M was killed off in that movie, so it functioned as a standalone without us having this character in the rest of the movies who has an established backstory to adhere to. But after Spectre, there's no going back. Bond's main villain is now his vengeful stepbrother. It even retroactively tainted Casino Royale by making Le Chiffre a henchman of Blofeld. And also Javier Bardem from Skyfall, which is even more ridiculous since now you have one revenge villain who had his own vendetta against the heroes, working for another revenge villain with his own vendetta against the heroes. It's moving away from Mad Max franchising and towards Avengers/Star Wars franchising by creating a serialized mythology, which goes against everything that makes James Bond work.

This movie kinda sucked, there were no race mixing tropes right now in it but the hamfisted romance, the "lol lets shoot at a heli with a handgun" and bunch of other stuff really ruined it for me. I even lost track of the plot once and did not understand why the fuck they wanted to just walk into the supervillians den to get fucked. Like what the fuck.

and he blew up the WHOLE FACILITY by hitting a gaspipe? What.

This movie sucked balls.
>>
>>64125606
and the fucking top soldier with his extention nails that he didnt even get to use? What the fuck was that abortion even about. Top tier soldier dudes in the past had much cooler stuff, like a metal jaw, a slicey hat etc.

Those were cool, but having your nails made out of metal is really dumb.

Jesus fuck this movie.

it blows me away how incompetent he was. hes supposed to have masterminded the ENTIRE events of all these crazy convulated plans, more or less pulling it off so slick no one had any real idea about it, and then he leaves bond with enough time to get out of the building WITH the girl?

some of the previous plans actually literally RELIED on bond being bad ass enough to escape seemingly impossible scenarios, and he overlooks it THEN? the previous villains, atleast usually, made me think "oh shit hows bond gonna get out of this one", while this villian just kept making me roll my eyes at how fucking dumb he was.

hell, what was even his plan if bond DID decide she was disposable and just left the building?
>>
>>64125606
okay so the heli and handgun thing was in reference to the golden bb i believe. helicopters in vietnam or whatever, believing that there is that one tiny piece of shrapnel or bullet that just happens to take down the entire heli. kinda fits with bond, since hes ultimately just one man in the grand scheme of things, who manages to take down the entire conspiracy with a single, well placed shot.

>>64125468
>one revenge villain who had his own vendetta against the heroes, working for another revenge villain with his own vendetta against the heroes.
i think i have a prediction for the next film

>destroys base by shooting gas thing
>destroys heli with a handgun from over 300 meters away

No, its bullshit, no amount of luck would allow for that to happen. A rifle round? Perhaps. But not a puny peestol.

This kills the suspense and immersion. This movie sucked fucking donkey balls.

and

>>64125765

are right. At this point I wouldnt even mind if the next bond was a nigger, its not like it matters anymore. The series is ruined now. Might as well tip it off with a black turd ontop of the shitpie.
>>
>>64126275
sure it could. its not so much the bullet itself hit hards or anything, its that it gets sucked into something it shouldnt. A helicopter for a film was downed by simply spent blank cases flying up and into the blades. if something like a spent case getting sucked in there can do it, a bullet probably could do it too.
not saying it wasnt stupid tho. we had covered in the previous films that bond was getting old and wasnt a very good shot anymore. if anything, my biggest complaint was it removed the illusion of james bond being incredibly skilled to win his battles. in this case it was just pure luck, not really the jame bond im looking for.
>>
>>64126861
A handgun shooting down a helicopter like that is something like a one in a million thing. Especially an underpowered shitpistol like that. Plus he is on a boat.

And thats just one scene. There are many different scenes/things in this movie that sucked balls.

I dont get why people on internet things cant just let person who doesnt like a movie, just be. If a person has a clear reason to not like something, your speculation on it wont change his mind. I saw the movie. I saw the previous movies as well. I know some gun/weapon lore and what makes a good story. Perhaps its the person who desperately clings to a movie having to be good for some reason (like studio shilling) should perhaps look at himself and think twice why he is defending a bad movie on the internet.

Shit sux, and I would give it a bad review if I was faggotlike enough to have such an account somewhere.
>>
>>64124692

Le Chiffre was a shit villain elevated by the actor playing him.
>>
The Man from U.N.C.L.E and Kingsman were better for not taking themselves seriously.
>>
>>64127056
No, he was a perfectly solid villain and the antithesis to all this "getting captured was part of my plan" chessmaster bullshit in these last two movies. Honestly villains are more interesting when they aren't completely in control and you see them sweat and think on their feet. It shows what they're made of, plus it humanizes them which deepens the conflict. And of course Based Mads did a great job.

i outright told you i thought it was stupid. im just saying what its probably referring to, seeing how much love helis got in the movie. whoever did it all probably was into heli lore.
>I dont get why people on internet things cant just let person who doesnt like a movie
your the one who keeps insisting im defending it, and im the guy above pointing out how retarded it was that someone who was that smart didnt think to check if a running man could find the girl and conceivably jump. i merely pointed out that small things CAN take down a heli. not "james bond could make this shot". if anything, its you insisting on the idea that im defending it.
>>
what was the exact moment watching this you realized it was going to be unforgivable garbage?

for me it was the wink wink car chase countermeasures scene, I literally groaned when the 'atmosphere' switch turned on the radio.
>>
>Sir, we seem to be under fire, should i raise our altitude?

>Nah

Brilliant as always Sam Mendes!
>>
>>64128049
Definitely before that.

I think the first moment was when I watched the fucking shitty CG building collapse and then it cut to a shot of some awful falling prop house that happened to create a nice little slope for Bond to slide down in the opening "epic" scene.

Then it was the introduction of the obvious villain, C, who they never did anything with aside from the dumbest callback to CR possible.

Then it was Bond fucking that ugly old hag who had no bearing on the story or plot.

Somewhere in between these 3 absolutely dreadful scenes I lost all hope for the movie.
>>

>Bond is responsible for taking M out of the considerable and vast protection of the British intelligence service and driving her in a car with no weapons to a secluded location with no means to defend her
>she dies

>oh I guess it's alright Bond, just have your job back and continue doing whatever

>next movies starts

>Bond is going rogue and doing his own shit which involves detonating entire blocks in foreign countries

>oh hey Bond I guess we'll have to suspend you for a while or something just go home and relax

what the fuck does this man have to do to get fired or prosecuted?

Daily reminder if the studio just used Radiohead the director would have had to reedit the entire movie to fit that song and the movie would have become a lot better to compensate.
>>
>>64128273
It's bizarre, we're meant to think that some time has passed because M seems to have an insane amount of trust in Bond, but then it's outright stated that we're a couple of weeks after the old M's funeral, and all of that time Bond has been rogue tracking down some guy.
>>
>>64128226
>the fucking shitty CG building collapse

eh, I guess I overlooked that because that casual stroll across the rooftops right before was pretty great, really one of the few good bond moments in the movie
>>
>>64128297
Wasn't the movie already taken back for re-shooting or something at the 11th hour because it was absolute garbage? And all the editing and rewriting in the world clearly didn't save it?
>>
>>64128226
You have to at least admit it had the greatest opening of any Bond so far.
CR might have been more mysterious, but the one-shot perfectly synched with the music in this was so good that it felt out of place compared to everything else
>>
>>64128409
Sure, it was alright for Neo-Bond.

Didn't make me interested in the movie at all, and it was at least 5 seconds longer than it needed to be.
