Saw a clip that Burr was using to promote the show. The scene was the kid and dad arguing and dad says he'll put the kid through a wall, but they were outside.
Extremely unfunny.

This show has it moments. I thought it was alright.
Definitely not laugh out loud funny but on a forum populated by rick and morty fans I wouldnt expect a slice of life period piece to go over well.

It was actually good. The trailer doesn't do it justice. It's nothing like the duebro humor of family guy. It's just about a family of mostly realistic characters in difficult but relateable situations. The comedy comes form seeing good people being ground down by the monotony and capriciousness of real life, though it never gets too bleak. Its reminiscent of socialist realist cinema, the side plot is even about a union dispute.
I think a lot of people who are critiquing it wanted another Family Guy/American Dad and have missed the point.

He need's something bad to happen if he wants to do good comedy again. What's funny about a well-off man, with a wife and a successful career? Contrast that with the struggling comic who couldn't get laid in a whorehouse, and you can see why Bill lost his edge.

As a first season it was fairly enjoyable. I give it a 7/10. If they can build on that strengths of the show and add in some plot development that goes episode to episode and have the characters age it could get really interesting.
As an aside I'm not really a fan of Burr and don't understand the accolades that he receives (if he does), however I find him to be decent in this.
Really though, with some good writers this show could be very good - the bare bones foundations of the show are great, settingwise and characterwise.
Has anyone seen this and can they tell me is it worth checking out. I don't like most tv cartoons maybe some old Simpsons and home movies, shit like family guy, bobs burgers is cringeworthy bad to me tho.
