Quips are great when they aren't overdone and actually make sense. The majority of the quips in this movie came across as annoying and unfunny, and it reminded me of a fucking Marvel movie like when Iron Man talks shit to whatever villain he's fighting. It undermined the villains and made me disinterested because I never felt nothing was really at stake. Could you imagine if the first scene of a New Hope, one of the Rebel Troopers Vader is chocking responds to his demand for the Death Star plans with "IN YOUR DREAMS SCUBA FACE!" It makes you not take Vader seriously at all.

I went in with no expectations and enjoyed it.
It was predictable and safe but still far better than the prequels. The new characters were fantastic and made you care about them, i actually liked the twist that Kylo wasn't a complete untouchable edgelord but a villain with big weaknesses and flaws that tries to hide them behind a mask.
My only disappointment was they we barely saw Luke and he didn't even meet Han ;_;
