I think it was a pottery thing. Phasma is supposed to be this movie's version of Boba Fett or Darth Maul. A character that doesn't do much, has literally screen time, has almost no character, and yet has a cool costume and thus appears in all the advertising.
In the end, Phasma still wasn't used the same way though. Despite her limited screen time, Phasma actually has more character and personality than Boba Fett and Darth Maul combined.
