Never seen StarTrek.
Is it worth checking out, all of it?

Only watch Enterprise and the JJ verse stuff as they are the only series worth giving a damn about.
>>64021643
Watch a few episodes and decide for yourself.

this
>>64021854
Nah
>>64021754
What about the original series with spirk and cock? Those are the most iconic characters in Star Trek.
>>64021754
You forgot Voyager which is the best Star Trek because it has the most Borg

>>64022206
Not canon anymore.
>>64022691
Yes it is. It's just in the prime timeline where Janeway is promoted to Admiral and B-4 gains Data's programming then becomes Captain of the Enterprise E in a new war against the Klingons
TOS is whacky as shit and is loads of fun. Getting drunk and telling normalfags about Star Trek plots is a good time.
>"...and then Kirk finds a Nazi planet because some guy from Starfleet left his nazi book behind when he left 30 years ago..."

It's worth watching just to formulate an opinion on it.
Did you like the new star wars movie or the JJ abrams star trek?
then no, Star Trek isn't for you
TOS aint that bad most of the time. Some episodes aren't that good but if you like any other sort of Trek, it's well worth it.

More like. Can you overlook the absolute cheese ball episodes to discover the tiny nugget of decent sci fi hidden within.
>>64024036
what a load of shit
now yes I've never seen the original movies but I've seen my share of most of the shows and they were mostly enjoyable
>>64024036JJ Trek is very very true in spirit to TOSargue with me if you want, deep down you know I'm right
>>64024107
What episodes in your estimation is "decent sci-fi" then?
My fav TOS episode was probably the Doomsday Machine. Dat cone was GOAT.
>>64024107
the show was made in the 60's. you gotta cut it some slack on the cheese.
>>64024301
>Janeway becomes the new Borg Queen
>in order to oppose her, Seven of Nine takes control of a Doomsday Machine
>she merges with it and takes on the new name Seven of One
Thanks, TNG novels. Thanks a lot.

>JJ Trek is very very true in spirit to TOS
True in spirit means nothing. Jurassic World and Star Wars were "true in spirit" also. Tru in spirit just means taking the best parts of an original IP and making it a caricature of itself.
I've finally started watching it this year. Still in the Original Series because of multiple things coming up in life.
It can be a bit cheesy and ridiculous, but the special effects used for space shots are nice, and they explore interesting social themes. So I do enjoy it.
>>64021786
I agree with this, yes.
>>64024535
wat
>>64024567
>taking the best parts of an original IP and making it a caricature of itself.
TOS already is a caricature of itself, thats why its different, and why JJ works
>>64024801
They have books about Star Trek.
And every TNG book is like that.
