It's just not an interesting film. I was really hyped for this and I thought they were going to nail it when I saw the trailers.
Unfortunately the movie is just "Hey, remember that thing from Star Wars ;) Look it's the training drone remember that ;) Remember when this character said that thing, now this character is saying that same thing ;) Remember Yoda this is a new Yoda ;) Death Star ;)" They wink at the audience too much, and it's not really a reward for knowing the story so far, and beyond those cheeky little winks, what is there?
It's a simulacra of Star Wars. I didn't know you could make a simulacra of a simulacra but apparently you can. I'm going to do with this movie what I did with the prequels and just return to the old films.
