Because movies like to cast identifiable faces to make money, and there aren't that many Middle-Eastern actors who are identifiable to Clapistani audiences.

But people are also stupid with the "everything is either white or black" argument. Lower (northern) Egyptians are the same people you find all around the Mediterranean, look a lot like Lebanese, Greeks, etc. Upper (southern) Egyptians look more Ethiopian, with reddish skin and "pointy" noses and skinny features (there are a few in that pic).
None of the Egyptians looked like West Africans, the people who are the ancestors of African American slave populations. The West Africans were in... you know, the western part of the African continent. Mali, Songhai, Ghana, Benin, those nations and kingdoms.

Forgot to say. Obviously being in the area it is it, Ancient Egypt wasn't just one completely black or completely white nation, it was a mix. But it's fact that the majority of the royalty do have European DNA roots. Earlier kings were in fact subsaharan black, Nubia had shared culture at the time. Racial discrimination of the sorts we usually associate with slavery didn't really exist.
