Hitler was so impressive because of how in control he was. he was also very good at appealing to people's sentimentality.

a "realistic" Hux speech would have referenced a bunch of shitty things the Republic had done and how this was their chance to regain the glory days of the Empire. it would have left the normies in the audience confused about who they were supposed to root for.

Hux was a young af general that knew he was going to destroy 5 planets in a few seconds. To me, he was like Kylo, not totally in control, letting every bit of hate for the republic pour through and I found it compelling in a way different then that of Hitler's desu

You'd think she would have displayed some competence to give the audience the impression that she actually earned her position and swag armor, but the only impression I got was that she probably sucked a lot of cocks to get her promotion. That probably explains why this guy didn't have her job.
>>
People expecting the bad guys to deliver a Hitler-tier speech when it's a movie made for children to watch it. The original Star Wars had the Empire be a cartoon villain organization with evil cloaked leaders and all. You fags will complain about everything.

But let's take the bait. This is the moment kids and normies are supposed to go "Oh, they're pretty fucking evil and have no redeeming qualities." so no ambiguity can happen and have the edgelords that like to cheer for the badguys have no basis for their stupid internet theories "The Empire wasn't bad at all! Look at my interpretations of this scene!".

Have a kid watch a Hitler speech and he'll love it and have no idea why everyone's telling him Hitler was bad. A whole lot of children and teens that read Mein Kampf and listen to Hitler's speech are fascinated by him. We can't have that in a black and white evil vs good movie in space.

tl;dr - stop nitpicking to complain about the movie.

RIGHT

LET'S BE HONEST GUYS...

THE FILM SUCKED, IT WAS BLAND, LITERAL MARVEL-TIER JUNK

NONE OF THE LINES WERE MEMORABLE.

I can't wait for you cunts to finally figure out the prequels were god-tier along with Lucas and for you all to stop hating them
>>
>>63882349

I was talking about Finn fighting the other Stormtrooper. Kylo Ren, even while seriously wounded was toying with him in the lightsaber battle at the end of the movie, and once Finn catches him off guard and scores a hit, Ren seriouses the fuck up and wrecks him easily.

I agree with you about the current generation being Avengers style garbage but that doesn't magically make the prequels good

they're still shit

albeit more interesting shit than the bland artifice that some council at Disney has created

Instead of making it about MaRey Sue and Stronk Womyn, it should've just been about Poe and Finn.
>>
>>63882602

I've read so many different analyses of Star Wars that basically boil down to "the Sith and Empire would be really awesome if the most powerful people in both organizations weren't fucking incompetent".

When that's kind of the point. The same motivations that drive Sith to rule the Empire or a political machine like it are also the motivations that destroy them in the end.
>>
i forget the exact lines but the trash compactor thing was p. clever
>>
>>63882560
the only part in the prequels that really moved me was the Obi Wan v Anakin scenes in Episode III, and a large part of that is just the music desu.

Meanwhile in the OT you've got:

Binary sunset scene
"Use the Force, Luke"
Han getting frozen in carbonite/"I know"
Yoda's speech about the Force
Final confrontation in the throne room
Unmasking of Vader
etc
>>
>>63882831
This new movie felt like 0815 avengers gay shiet.
Episode 1-6, especially the prequels could make you cry. It was just so sad. And good. I hope the movie opens the eyes of the fans so they recognise how good episode 1-3 were. The we will press f and pay respects and apologys to george lucas. Disney dick suckers.

It's just so fucking out of place. This glorious son of a bastard just fucking recognizes Finn and decides that unholy retribution must be dealt on this backstabbing fuck. And not with any shit-teir laser gun, he's seen too many of his fellow warriors get killed due to their own shit aim. No, this mother fucker busts out his righteous raid melee weapon and goes to town on little boy black who thinks he can just turn his back on everything he stands for. Nigger didn't know what fuckin hit him, the resistance scum.

In a movie filled with trilogy-killing 'quippy' dialogue and shallow, contrived villains, this nameless badass goes on to make history as the greatest stormtrooper of all time. This guy should have been Phasma, THIS GUY should have been Ren. But no, just like every one of his brothers, he was doomed to die a hero's death from the moment he donned that white helmet. God speed to this wondrous man who was taken from us far too soon, a man who, despite not knowing he was on the wrong side, fought with all his righteous fury for what he believed in. God speed, I say!

Ladies and gentlemen, the new CIA.

The strangeness of this scene fits almost directly into the same category as CIA. There were a million other characters better suited to do what CIA did, but for some reason he came into existence and stole our hearts. A glitch.

Still liked Finn though. He, Chewie, and BB-8 were my favorites.

I liked Rey in the beginning, scrounging for spare parts to barter for food, eating fucking bread and water for dinner, living in poverty, wearing the Rebel helmet dreaming of being a pilot... I legitimately felt bad for her.

And then her character went to shit when the First Order attacks and she takes off in the Millennium Falcon..

Starkiller Base, Finn's talking about saving Rey, Han's looking past him out the window behind him where Rey's scaling a sheer wall.

Eventually Finn's like "why ya doin' this?" *nod* *nod* "huh? Why? Why ya doin' this?" in the most obnoxiously "street" way possible before Han finally points with his blaster and Finn sees what's going on.

Finn was trained his whole life as a stormtrooper. He just had a freakout and went AWOL after seeing a trooper get shot on his first combat drop. There is NO reason he should be anywhere near this flippant or casual at all, not when his entire life has been rigorous military drills and procedure.

Boyega's a fantastic actor but Finn just makes absolutely zero sense as a character. It feels like Abrams said "now that we've cast a black guy, can we make him more 'hip' and 'gangsta' to appeal to the kids?" in the most blaxploitationist way possible, and Boyega went along with it for the paycheck. He's fucking wasted in the role.

There's nothing strange about this actually. Random, incidental characters that pop out of nowhere and still seem to have their own personality just make the world feel larger and more realistic in stories like these. Hell we run into them in real life all the time. It's refreshing to see not everything revolves around the 5-6 main characters all the time.

Finn says something idealistic to try and get Poe to like him.

Poe sees through it and realizes Finn's only busting him out because he knows how to fly a ship.

Finn, realizing the jig is up, admits it, hoping Poe will still do what he wants.

That kind of pissed me off about Finn's character. Yeah, the first order are evil, but the only people you know in the entire galaxy are your brothers in arms, and most of them probably came from the same circumstances.

So Finn turns around and starts blowing away stormtroopers without thinking about it? Officers, maybe, but not fellow grunts. It bugged me a lot during his escape how he's hooting and hollering about killing people he's eaten with and worked with and bunked with.
