The first movie nudity I was exposed to. I had it on VHS and rewinded it over and over.
Yes, Demi's bolted-on tits in this film are horrible now but I loved them very much as a kid.
>>63835819
The Cable Guy
>>63836101

That is a legit great movie. I never understood why it got so many negative reviews.
Star Wars ep VII

Senior Trip
Jeremy Renner's finest film
Idgaf. There is some legitimate funny scenes in this movie. And very quotable much like the first.
>>63837729
Jacques: What are you gonna do? you gonna execute me for my sins? Don't think you're better than me, you fucking psycho. You fucking almost killed people for butting into line.
Frank D'Arbo: [Interrupts] You don't butt in line! You don't sell drugs! You don't molest little children! You don't profit on the misery of others! The rules were set a long time ago. They don't change.
Frank was based as fuck.
>>63838101
I thought the same but after re watching it with the Shia stream I thought it was pretty shit
I will never understand how people can not like this movie.
>>63837539
Because people expected another Jim carrey slap stick comedy. The world wasn't ready for dark Carrey
>>63838409
This is the only movie that after I bought and watched I threw away. I couldn't stand it. Sachca was the only worthwhile part and he couldn't save it.

What the fuck at that endorsement, that's like putting a blurb from your local am radio station on your shit.
>>63839122
Caddyshack is great too. Pretty much all 70's/80's comedies are the shit. The Jerk and Stripes are another two I love as well
Not really underrated, but you guys seem to hate it like it's fucking cancer, and I like it.

Solid Snake as a warrior equipped with bioarmor from outer space fighting power rangers tier monsters. hilarious dialogue, amazing fight scenes choreography, and pretty solid plot. it's fucking awesome.

first one is trash.
maybe it's nostalgia goggles, but i enjoy guyver 2 to this day.
>>63841475
They expected a more Spielberg-like movie.
>>63841523
I'm in the mood for this exact brand of goofiness. It sounds like one of those extremely rare straight-to-video releases that actually work.
>>63841741
just don't expect anything and have fun.
>>63835819
Mystery Men is pretty fun movie, haven't watched in a while.
>>63841907
Nah, I'm only expecting a more violent power rangers that's better than the first Guyver.
Thank fuck I watched this before I watched the trailer because it looks like its advertising some sort of Van Wilder type college bullshit when that is far from the case, 9/10 for me.
Also the main character is actually Patrick Bateman's younger brother who is a drug dealer at college. (Patrick isnt mentioned in the movie but it is in the books and other stuff by the author)
>>63841983
Shit, really? I didn't even know Bateman had a brother.

>>63841072
Mummy was only underrated among critics. It was all the fucking rage among everybody else.
My pick. Can't think of a more underrated movie that I've watched more than Dune. The Spicediver fanedit is the best version.
>>63842088
Good movie, Costner and Wood both did well in their roles.
Watched this again a little while ago, every time cry like a little girl.

It was praised here before the DvDrips came out and hatefilled contrarians watched it.
>>63843183
I've seen better martial arts movies with cringier scenes. They're made specifically for the choreography, and Man of Tai Chi knew that. I really liked it.

You'd probably like the live action Flintstones movie. It's only real mistake was casting Rosie O'Donnell as Betty.
>>63843382

I feel like this is underrated too. This is one of the few movies that actually captures the feeling of an anime, even tho it's silly as hell.
Not sure if cult-status negates underrated, but I love this one.

I think it's just boring and somewhat lazy for a Mel Brooks movie. It's not bad, but it's subpar for both of them (not like Leslie was making great movies towards the end of his career).

>>63847114
My nigga.
Don't know why people hated this.
I guess they didn't expect a comedy and took it way too seriously.
Like critics called it clichéd despite the fact that it was literally lampooning action movie clichés.
Pic related also got a lot of shit because it was advertised as a straight action movie, despite being a comedy. Also criminally underrated.
>>63835819
pretty much this
This is a pretty underrated comedy/satire that eerily predicts a few things about the post-9/11 era.
And it has some pretty gorgeous visuals and good soundtrack to boot.HOO HAH! HOO HAH!
>>63847411
I loved Toys, too.
It was basically the opposite case of >>63847301.
People expected a Willy Wonkaesque comedy and instead got a horror movie of sorts.
>>63843183
I liked the movie but was a little disappointed that they ended up scrapping their camera cage thing they planned to do for fight scenes.
>>63847719
>camera cage thing
Wasn't it a camera on a robot arm? I thought they used it.
>>63839884
Cera was good in it at least.
>>63835819
>>63841121
This movie has great practical effects
>>63843689
while we're on Zombie movies...
>>63840144
Wait what... You've seen Super and Kickass and you couldn't tell which one was the better movie?
>>63847691
I wouldn't call it a horror movie, but I don't think audiences were expecting an anti-war political satire since it definitely doesn't seem that way on the surface.
But that's what makes the movie great is it dared to make a statement on the American military post-Cold War and it's sadly more relevant now than ever.
>>63849348
Yeah, I only called it horror because it managed to hit so close to home in the long run.
Political satire is absolutely what Toys was.
>>63841983
This is a great fucking movie.
>>63849030
Super is the hipster choice. it's only liked because it was totally overlooked on release.
>>63849439
You're right, it is pretty horrific today, I can't help but be reminded of the arcade scene whenever one of those Call of Duty games come out, to say nothing of Drones obviously.
And the whole idea of General Zevo wanting war for the sake of war, irregardless of the reason or who they're fighting, it's pretty creepy and I bet a completely accurate depiction of Pentagon types.
I vaguely remember enjoying this. I'm not a hippie, and I'm not american.
>>63849533
Super tells the story of what real life superheros would be like way better than Kickass.
Kickass is basically a children's popcorn flick where as Super has substance and leaves you thinking after you've watched it.
>>63849644
I liked it a lot too. I was honestly surprised at how poorly it was received.
Four Lions.
the smoker attack is so good
>>63850170
There were two problems with this movie that could easily have been fixed:
1. Making the girl's village look like it had been abandoned for a couple of years instead of hundreds. She was like six.
2. Casting somebody that wasn't Kevin Costner.
Smokers were by far the best.
dont judge me

>>63837279
i liked this movie too.
RRRrrrr!!!
>>63841323
how is it underrated? it is routinely held up as one of the best films of the decade by basically any serious movie critic
my pick is Southland Tales. people will come around to it eventually and realize it's a masterpiece, it's already starting to happen
>>63835819
This movie doesn't deserve a third of the shit it gets.
>>63852207
>There is an alternate universe where Toy Story didn't kill 2D animation and people actually went to see this and Treasure Planet and Disney went on to have a golden age of big budget animated adventure movies
>>63852207I liked this better than the original Stargate.
>>63852207
Why does this movie even get so much shit? I can't think of a single unlikeable character in it.
>>63852834
It's because it had the exact same plot as Stargate.
Never mind that it was actually good this time.

Watch Stargate.
>the main character is a linguist with big crazy dreams who works in a shit job
>secret group sees his crazy dreams and linguistic abilities as perfect for the expedition into the unknown
>puts him in with a ragtag team of nonscientific warriors
>team ends up at the unknown only to discover it's populated by friendly natives
>major invading threat decides it's time to fuck shit up (here's where the real difference is; in Stargate it was a twink alien, in Atlantis it's the leader of the very expedition team the linguist was on)
>good guys win through wits and talents
>linguist falls in love with a native and decides to stay behind
>>63851500

>>63843414
Great movie, by far the best visual adaptation of a comic book. Campy as hell but that was clearly the intention.
>>63853086

Seriously, this movie fucking rules and it even led to Peter Jackson making the LOTR trilogy.
It kind of confounds me just how little known this movie is, sometimes it feels like a movie only I've seen.
>>63840120
Love it
>>63852834
Because it was basically just "what if Jules Verne wrote D̶a̶n̶c̶e̶s̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶W̶o̶l̶v̶e̶s̶ Pocahontas" and it possessed minimal redeeming qualities beyond the production values. Of course Atlantis and Treasure Island have cult followings among animation fans for obvious reasons but they're really just not good movies when it comes down to it; Disney abandoned what made Disney movies good in an effort to reach out to an older demographic and the subsequent failure was the last handful of nails in the coffin. Lilo and Stitch was pretty much the only really good 2D Disney movie after between Beauty and the Beast apart from Fantasia 2000 and that barely counts. Your nostalgia goggles are on too tight if you think that 90s Disney was anything but the beginning of the end.
>>63856987
The Frighteners is really underrated? I only ever hear good things about and it's on cable all the time. It's ashamed if it is unpopular though. It pretty much a classic in my mind.
