I liked the idea of the main antagonist being this badass Sith who ends up just being a brat trying to be Vader.
I also liked the scene where he killsHanright as the sun is just finishing getting drained. It was preditable, but well done.
I hope it follows the same arc as the original trilogy and he eventually gains redemption, I feel like he deserves it. I liked his character a lot though I wish we could see more of him in depth

Most likely what will happen with Snoke talking about how his training is going to be completed now. Sith training as nothing to do with learning how to duel or how to use the force. It's about taking shortcuts and using your emotions to fuel your powers. The Jedis always had a more formal training. Ben Solo learned his from Luke Skywalker. He was already a skilled lightsaber duelist and force user. Snoke only wants to teach him the dark arts.

Perhaps it was predictable because the whole series is based on the monomyth and pretty much every hero's journey is just as predictable. To me it was different enough in the details that using a similar plot, which literally dozens of other movies have used before and after SW, didn't really affect my view of it.

Like Finn. He's a supposed bad guy who just decides to do the right thing and becomes a hero against everything that is expected of him. He makes that choice literally the moment we see him on screen, instead of at the very last moment like Anakin.
