Best new character of the ST?
Characters like THIS is why the Force Awakens is so fucking good. For what was just a dumb swordfight between the protagonist and a random stormtrooper there was so much going on with the characters
compare to the prequels where Jedi just cut the robots up like butter and that's all there is to it

This, the droid, and Han and Chewie were the only good things in the entire film. The entire movie should've just been a chase scene with this guy chasing BB8 and then getting btfo at the end by Han and Chewie and it would've made for a better film.

Force Awakes is great because it goes so far to justify even a duel with a random stormtrooper -- one of them recognizes Finn and wants payback, so he decides to use his stun stick and go in for the close kill. It's not much, but obviously it worked because people can't stop talking about this random stormtrooper

It's okay because the hero that got their shit kicked in is another single Stormtrooper. Finn isn't hero status yet and his stats are still the same as a regular Trooper. He'll level up after recovering from near-death experience as is the norm in SW universe.
