The characters were all super rushed. It takes 3 whole fucking movies for luke to finally be powerful enough to be a full blown Jedi and he still doesn't even do any of these force mind/body control shit. The fucking girl in this movie finds out she's force sensitive like fucking yesterday and next thing you know she's some super master of the force and goes head to head with a guy who has been learning the force and light saber dueling for years. Even the hack finn who has never used a lightsaber in his life manages to give ren a fight.
Seriously what the fuck is this bullshit. What was wrong with the books that they couldn't just continue the story with them.
Another thing was that uber massive deathstar 2.0 which everyone suddenly finds out exists after its been complete and is like 3 times the size of a planet. And they're like "nah don't worry we'll destroy it" and it takes one fucking guy to fly in through a hole to destroy the whole damn thing. Atleast in the originals it took some exceptional force usage to direct the bombs down that anal shaft or whatever it was. This time it was some generic nobody that is totally irrelevant to the story.

Can anyone explain the whole rebel/resistance/republic thing?
So from what i can tell the there is a sort of makeshift republic in place that The First Order is trying to destroy. (Which would make The First Order the rebels?)
Why are the 'republic' not involved in any way in this war? Why is it only the resistance fighting against The First Order. Shouldnt they have noticed these guys converting a entire planet to a deathray?
Wouldnt the resistance have reached out to the republic for help in fighting The First Order?
Why is there no response from anyone else other than the resistance(who was already fighting them) after they destroy 5 planets?
