I loved TFA, but it is definitely going to be overexposed. I wish they would have waited for the trilogy to be over and then they start doing the smaller stories in between the current trilogy and their planning for the next trilogy.
It was overly quippy. It was serious when it needed to be. The originals were the same. The prequels were void of humor, for the most part.

The prequels are better than 7.
They give us what we want, they expand the universe, give more depth to it. Sure it's incompetently made, and could've been a million times better, but it's still a nice memorable story.
7 is just a cheap shallow remake of 4. It adds nothing to the overall story, it even sets us back to where we started from.
It's sad how easily people are duped by fancy lens flares and reddit humor.

Star Wars has always had quips you pleb.
I hated this too in the new comics, then I realized it's exactly how the characters would talk (except for the Darth Vader comic, that one was shit).
What was neat is that any time a character in TFA said a line, you could predict from previous Star Wars writing exactly what the response would be. It might get annoying after two more films, but in this one it was fun to figure out.

I think it suits the tone just fine. They're adventure films with a classic Hollywood feel. If you think of Robin Hood or Zorro or any character like that, they're slinging off quips in tight situations or against authority figures. It just works.

I think we get that Obi-Wan loves him. He is always looking out for him, giving him important shit to do, etc. So Obi-Wan considers them friends, while Anakin sees him as a teacher who is holding him back by not pushing the order to make him a master. And we only really get Obi-Wan's feelings towards Vader in the OT, so we don't really have a basis for Anakin's relationship towards Obi-Wan, only the reverse.
Clone Wars question. Why does Anakin get an apprentice if he isn't a master?
