The biggest crime of this film is not having more of these two broing it up together.
That would've been problematic and regressive. Abrams is also a hack who didn't see the obvious potential in this.
We have two more films for it! :D
Poe had like 4 sentences of dialogue, that was the crime, Finn was meh.
>>63771677
The biggest crime of the movie is that totally shitty blaster Finn ended up with.
That's the best design they could come up with?
>>63771711
>That would've been problematic and regressive
What do you mean by regressive?
Next two films they'll have more significant roles. The Force Awakens was basically just a "bridge" between the Original Trilogy and these new films. Bring back the old and familiar to make everyone care about star wars again, but make sure to plant the seeds of the new characters and concepts that will be further expanded upon in the next films.
>>63771729
Don't forget the yearly spin-offs. There's going to be a new Star Wars flick every year from now until the decay of human thought so we're certain to see that spotlight shine on Finn and Poe someday.
Their conversation in the tie fighter was alright, rest of the scenes with them interacting felt lik the writers really wanted to force thheir friendship even though Poe has like 3 minutes of screentime.
>>63771677
They should have done a really manly handshake or like arm grab thing instead of hugging in this scene desu
>guy steals your jacket
>nah it's cool man, you keep it

The opposite of 'progressive', in the sociopolitical sense.

why the fuck did they have padme in this movie
most fucking cringe worthy scenes
all her scenes were literally just 'muh han'
>>63771677
that fucking trigger control. Attempting relatable authenticity and realism in a magical universe where planet sized cannons shoot faster than light laser beams.

They're total bros, I fucking loved that.
>>63772280
It is, and what the fuck is that guy on about?
A trigger is a trigger, regardless of whatever fancy shit's going on in the galaxy. Better him do that than accidentally shoot someone in the foot.
>>63771677
The biggest crime of this film was Rey being the biggest Mary Sue that Star Wars has ever seen

Since Finn is not-Leia and Poe is not-Han, they'll probably fuck for true pottery.

How the fuck is Disney going to keep this franchise special if they churn out rehashes and spin offs set in the past every calendar year?
>>63772899
What is the linguistic difference between "droid please" and "please droid"? Does it really trigger your /pol/locks that badly?
>>63772537
>implying I'm all-white
Dumb nigger cunt.
>>63771677
If They switched roles, would it be a better movie?
>>63772944
They've been successful doing it with the Marvel movies. Disney is going to keep doing this until the expanded universe trend crash and burns.
>>63772993
No. Audiences don't buy into black ace pilots. See Red Tails, because Disney saw it too. Lando was more crisis middle management than some ace pilot.
>>63771677
That running hug was fucking cringe.
>share one scene together
>suddenly interact like they're best friends in their following scenes
MMM, love the taste of lazy writing.
best thing about the movie. I dont even mind if they push the SJW agenda further and have them be gay for each other, they are perfect every time they are on screen together
>>63772845
>she's a scavenger so she can climb on shit and fight with a stick
Neat
>she has more technical know-how than Han does on his own ship
Well, Han's shown that he's not the best mechanic, and I guess she must've taken a closer look at the parts she was selling
>she can use a Jedi mind-trick after only hearing that the Jedi are real like 6 hours ago.
Uh... O-Okay
>Also Luke/Anankin's lightsaber is drawn to her because apparently lightsaber'a choose their owners now, I guess?
I still liked the movie but that shit was too much
>>63773143
They literally owe each other for life after saving each others lives from the son of the mother of all evils. A new name, a brotherly hug, and a leather jacket is the least he could have given Finn.
>>63773143
I'd rather them have be bros too quickly than for Poe to be all HES THE ENEMY the entire movie
Why are bromances so great to watch on screen ?
>>63773175
She has literally spent half her life dissecting Star Destroyers and wrecking would-be thieves and thugs trying to take her hard earned shit. She knows more about the inner workings of starships than Luke ever did. Luke still relied on R2D2 to fix all his broken shit after 3 movies. If she had huge tits and twin pistols, you faggots would be calling her Lara Croft.
>>63772980
I'm literally in the opposite defense. I'm mad that even in a world with starships and laser, the black guy is stuck with lines that boil down to "nigga please". Can't wait for the sequel when Kylo Ren shows back up and Fin says, "Oh heeeell no!"
>>63772033
>/tv/
>adults
The term is manchildren
>>63773143
they shared several scenes together before that, including almost dying together. Also the robot has been present the entire time inbetween and is a credible source in Poes life. It's not like this movie didn't have lazy writing, but this isn't a good example of that.
>>63771677
It made sense that Poe wasn't in the movie as much. As a character, he didn't have any sort of dilemma to overcome, no obstacle to work through to establish some sort of character growth. I imagine we'll be seeing more of him in the next two.
>>63772010
it really wasn't anywhere close to anti-white
the white males were the most likable characters besides ginger nazi
>fin was pretty likable but had some bad lines
>poe and fins bro mance was sudden but also likable
>they throw a strong female character into a trash compactor
>the least likeable aspect of the film was the female lead mary sue
>mfw all the guys who see this are going to latch onto either fin, poe or kylo for his meme costume, or simply ignore everyone else in favor of han/chewie and luke
>mfw all this feminist sjw shilling is likely going to backfire and the mouse is going to chase what makes fat stacks
>>63773230
That doesnt explain the force/lightsaber stuff, which was clearly the main point of that post
>>63773175
that light saber shit was some of the weakest back story pigeon holing shit the Star Wars universe has ever done. In fact I think that's the first instance of a first person flashback in the films.
>>63773230
That's fine, I could rationalize that up until the point where she uses a technique she's only heard of with zero instruction and only recently having it confirmed to be real at all.
>>63773143
confirmed for never having been in the military
saving someones life means bros4lyfe
>>63773199
because men these days are more socially isolated then before
and generally as men we don't get as many opportunities to have the kinda friend you'd have when you were twelve (ie. the friends you always cherish)
man I wish I had bros like when I was twelve
>>63773370
>>63773409
She got her trick book from Kylo Ren when he telepathically linked with her. She saw all his moves and was able to visualize how to do them.
>>63773519
It's kinda hard to interpret that when two people are just angrily staring at each other
>>63773457
that and if a guy helps get you laid or something like that
>guy I'm only slightly friends with hangs out with my circle of friends a few times
>have a date with a girl arranged
>turns out my bus card was stolen
>no ride
>call up friends
>everyone busy
>call this guy up because fuck it maybe
>he says "yeah I'm free right now I'll be over in 10" with no strings attached
>me and him chat while we wait for her to show up
>she stands me up
>depressed and feel stupid
>he goes "hey bro lets get stoned and play some xbox"
>get stoned a park, go to his place to play some 360 games and order a fucking huge pizza
>don't even remember that bitches full name anymore
>but bros 4life with that guy
>>63773370
I think (just my theory) she may be the force that was awoken in the title.
Considering how she was able to get a grasp so quickly on the workings of The Force (mind tricking Daniel Craig, lightsaber grab) I'd say her level of Force mastery is pretty strong. However, I bet that's gonna come back to bite her in the ass, and she'll have a shit ton of force come out in waves, which she'll need Luke to train her for.
>>63773552
yeah weeds a fun way to make friends sometimes
>>63773541
Is it?
>saw his worst fears
>almost immediately tries to use the Force after the failed interrogation
>understands how to pull objects to her and use a lightsaber properly
I mean its a fucking Star Wars movie the answers were right in front of you. And people here complain that Star Wars has no depth.
>>63773610
Honestly it was more he helped me out, and then went above and beyond when my night went to shit.
I've had people I've known longer then him not do anything like that for me.
>>63773571
Are you saying that the Force is coming in waves and Luke has to guide her through it???
>>63773713
...this turned out weirder than expected, but yes.
>>63771677
>Sweeping his bro's legs

>>63771677

That green text made me smile. Bromance is something that transcends all other relationships.
