When did Luke "struggle" with it though? He whinned a little in episode 5, big deal, he fell and got over it. In episode 6, he didn't make any emotional sign that he was struggling between the dark and light. He did show a struggle with stopping himself from fighting his dad, but that has more to do with Lukes interpretation of right and wrong, then light and dark side. Other jedis in the past would have just killed vader (Obi Won killed Maul) and then tried to kill the Emperor.
Sure, Luke was trained far later, but it was by a much wiser Obi Wan, who had experience fucking it up the first time. Then Yoda added his bit, while also being aided by ghost Obi Wan. So Luke arguably had a much better support system then Anakin, and was also never introduced to the "jedi lifestyle" which Anakin saw in the prequels. Luke also never knew his mother or father, or had any siblings. Besides his uncle and aunty, he was alone. He also got over their death fairly quickly and easily, so he obviously didn't care much for them.
