>>63688687
It's because you're a humorless prick and everyone hates you, cuck
>>63688687
Just curious, but what comedies do you enjoy if not Always Sunny. Cause it's by far and away the best comedy show on air right now imo.
>>63688552

Their interview on Maron's podcast was great. Odenkirk spent a good deal of the time talking shit about Cross for wearing cargo shorts on Mr. Show and not looking like he takes his career seriously.
>>63689590
If it weren't for Breaking Bad, Cross would have the much better career.
1. West Wing
2. Damages
3. Portlandia
4. Parks and Rec
I have a netflix trial right now. What are some good movies on this shit?
>>63688552
Detectorists
Still Game
Frasier
Star Trek (take your pick of which series)
Dunno for the fifth.
>>63690491
Shit just realized how many other good shows there are to pick for five; but I'll still leave it blank for now.
>>63689034
>bleach
>watching dubs
>>63690491
I heard good things about Detectorists, I'm going to check it out.
>>63688552
P L A N E T E A R T H
Mad Men
30 Rock
Arrested Development
Friday Night Lights
>>63688552
Stargate Atlantis Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Season 4
Season 5
>>63688734
>Ken Burns The Civil War
Thoroughly engrossing. My only gripe is the geriatric voice actors reading the letters of the young soldiers. Just kind of breaks the experience and makes the viewers forget that the thousands of men fighting and dying bloody in these pitched battles were really just boys.
>>63690126
>Parks and Rec
lol no
>Portlandia
Some great skits but there literally could not be a more incosistent show. Holy crap when its bad, it is really bad
>>63690721
Thats a good point but Id imagine the older sounding readers are meant to make us think the actual soldiers are telling the story, albeit years later
>>63688596
>tfw not on canadumb Netflix.
Id totally watch it
Trailer park boys
Spartacus
Fresh prince
Scdubs
House of card, i guess
>>63690732
Sounds like portlandia is just like snl
>>63690690
>show about high school kids
>who play football
>in texas
How anyone even thought that could be good boggles my mind.
>>63688552
>TV shows on Netflix
>Non-meme shows please
You've contradicted yourself there my friend.
>television and film board
>nobody mentions the story of film
If you can get past the absolute most annoying narrator ever it's definitely worth watching.
>>63688689
>Arrested Development
>Farscape
Good taste. Other shows are decent too.
>>63690806
sort of except the good skits are really top notch whereas good snl skits are just watchable.
>>63690944
That's not a tv show. It's a documentary that was shown on tv.
A tv show is a serial.
For example, Fargo is not a tv show, it's a series.
Get it?
>>63689026
>Breaking Bad
So a meme show anything that is critically acclaimed and widely enjoyed?
I thought meme shows were shit like Dominion or Super Girl......is Friends a meme show?
>>63690894
if thats how you think then you are a supreme plebian
>>63691042
That's right. People should learn to never insult subliminal homoerotica.
>Netflix
>Top 5 TV shows on Netflix? Non-meme shows please
That's like walking in to mcdonalds and asking for the top 5 items that aren't junk.
My favorites are probably:
Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Arrested Development
Futurama
Archer
Wilfred (one of the better shows with zero rewatchability)
but this is because netflix is only good for background noise anymore. they are really shitting the bed with their selection.
Non-comedies, memeing aside, I'd say:
Peaky Blinders
Breaking Bad
Narcos
House of Cards
Planet Earth
i'd go as far though to say their documentaries are a lot more enticing then their other programming anymore. Chefs Table was lovely to me
>>63691081
HAHAHAHAHA
>>63691001
>get it
I'm pretty sure I do, but I think it would be amusing for you to explain your understanding of it, because you clearly don't know what the words you're using mean.
>>63691075
>not understanding pure art and aesthetics
>>63691085
Planet Earth isn't a tv show. It's a series.
>>63691031
OP asked a trick question; he'd probably call everything on Netflix a meme show if he was aware of what he was talking about.
>>63691098
>get it?
>>63691122
it aired on television. not sure why it wouldnt be a tv show
>>63691122
ok. then if i must pick something else... uhmmm Hell on Wheels idk.
>>63691042
The show is pretty bad though, so the fact that the subject matter in itself is something virtually nobody wants to be exposed to just makes it that much worse.
>>63691157
LOL
All you need is the remastered X-Files senpai
>>63691081
>He doesn't like the Southwestern Chicken Salad
>He doesn't like the low fa chocolate milk
>>63691164
i dont watch the show but in defense of friday night lights you are talking about a section of the country that takes high school football more seriously than the NFL or any other sport combined. ive seen the movie and they do it justice. its basically, take everything about being a high school kid and pile on all the pressure of being a professional quarterback in the NFL and that, if they dont win, they will shame their parents. the movie is decent. its not remember the titans but its pretty good.
Is FNL still on Netflix? If so, that.
>>63691081
You can get a water and a salad with no dressing.
>>63691158
Gold until season 4
>>63691461
Fair enough.
But that's like saying a show where people sit in church each episode might be entertaining to a Southern Baptist.
I watched the first couple seasons of FNL, and it started off pretty good for what it is, but the vast majority of people just aren't going to sit through something so stupid and niche.
Some that come to mind
I.T Crowd
Wilfred
Peep Show
Macgyver
Sherlock
Firefly
Psych
House of Cards
Fringe
Sense8 - gay faggot shit
X-Files
>>63691578
yeah i guess. although i suppose the target audience was originally fans of the movie, sports fans, and young men in general which doesnt seem outlandish especially if it was good enough to spread by word of mouth. like i said, i didnt watch it though. but in terms of the idea behind telling a story and creating character arcs i think the premise is still enticing. its real life pressure. whether or not the show did it justice idk
>>63688552
The Fall
Narcos
X-Files
The Killing
Luther
I'm officially caught up on all my shows which means I'm officially bored as fuck. Movies or shows welcome, please gimme something. I'm not restrained to Netflix either.

>>63692522
>I mostly watch movies though
Fascinating.
>>63692522
care to suggest any movies?
>>63692104
I've felt that way lately, mostly just sticking to Netflix.
One thing I recently watched and which has seemed to pass entirely under the radar was Hit & Miss.
It's Chloƫ Sevigny as a tranny hitman doing a British accent and giving even more head.
It's not the most amazing thing, but it seemed to show up out of nowhere just recently and was worth watching.
>>63688552
Fargo
Ash vs Evil Dead
Nothing else
I had pretty much stopped watching and paying attention to anime, but when the second season of Mushishi showed up on Netflix I turned it into a semi-religious experience.
When my roommate took her daily shower I would get naked on the couch with a glass of the best whiskey I had around, put my feet up, and enjoy an episode each day until I had watched it all.
You don't need to have seen the first season to enjoy it, but being in the right mood makes a huge difference (always watch the intro credits/song).
>>63692559
There not obscure but good movies I've seen on Netflix are probably:
The Conversation
Chinatown
Serpico
Once Upon a Time in the West
Gladiator
The Graduate
There Will Be Blood
Top Gun
American Beauty
Oldboy
Glengarry Glen Ross
The Master
Eyes Wide Shut
Sunset Boulevard
Movies come and go too which is good. Seen a lot of movies that aren't in that watch it again list.
>>63693334
neither of those are on Netflix
>>63688912

>>63694080

Hard to pick 5, but no list is complete without The West Wing!
>>63694287
Why even bother making a new season ifDanny's gone?
>>63691578
It's literally considered one of the greatest shows of all time. You're completely alone in your plebeian opinion.
>>63694406
he was really good. there needs to be tons of flashbacks or ill probably drop it.
>>63694353
Going off US netflix sometime this month I believe.
Now is your last chance to marathon it. again.
>>63694603
Oh no :(
>>63694557
The way they ended it was probably the best way it could be done. Whatever way they do the next season I feel like it'd just be milking it.
Unless they go the True Detective route and just bring in a whole new set of characters and story.
>>63688552
american horror story season 2 and season 5 if they have it up yet.
skip the rest as its shit.
>>63694651
totally agree. as a family drama i think they did the story really great. and he held it all together so well. everything else was sort of average. also not looking forward to emo jr.
>>63694693
are you implying that season 2 is better than season 1?
>>63694693
>>63694845
season 1 was the only good season the rest is all such try hard artsy shit.
>>63689026
You fuckers were slurping Vince's dick a couple of years ago, now it's a meme. I don't understand this board at all.
>>63694919
i loved it. not afraid to admit it anonymous or otherwise.
i blame trolls for coming up with convincing arguments for what was wrong with it when people forget that the point of a show in the end is to just enjoy it.
>>63694919
it's sort of like lost where the first few seasons are great and then it kind of falls off. it also loses points for heavily relying on cliffhangers and deus ex machina
