You're mostly right. I enjoyed it enough I watched the whole thing and will watch a future season, but the protagonists are fucking retarded. If they kill off the spy and retard-chick and it's nothing but nips and nazis doing their own storyarcs I'd be fine. Or even kill off the idiot protagonists and get new ones so I've got someone worth rooting for.
Annoyed the shit out of me, but the bad guys had good enough stories it was worth watching. On the bright side I started watchingFargoafter which has been a hell of a lot better.

it's really just not good. after the first season there is a sheer drop in quality and it never recovers until the very last episode with the montage.
