Why is this still a thing? Opie has no aptitude in judging the flow of the show and where it ought to go. He walks on people's lines, destroys group dynamics, and chimes in for no other reason than to be heard.
I was just listening to the shows featuring Ann Coulter, and while Jim and Ant can go from serious discussion to jokes and back to serious discussion, Opie left out tries to "steer" the show into potty humor for the morning zoo. By the third Coulter appearance Opie stops coming in when she's on the show PERIOD.
He's a fucking hole. Anybody could sit in seat and not alter the show for the worse. Fucking professional broadcaster Sam Roberts could do opies gig, and he's a manchild dullard.

It's hard for me to take anything on the radio/podcasts at face value. There are very few genuine people with nothing to lose (e.g. Stanhope) who will just lay it all out regardless of the consequences. Drama makes for good radio, especially when shit stagnates. I'd say there's animosity there, but it might've been played up. Just saying, I wouldn't be suprised at all to find after all these years that Opie is just half a goofball but he does a good job playing up his annoying shit to be that guy on the show.
